- Van Tour Vauxhall Vivaro. This is a LWB Vivaro Campervan conversion. The van is currently up for sale at www.quirkycampers.com/uk/for-...
This campervan tour shows all aspects of the conversion and build. There is also a series of videos showing the whole build process. I hope it provides some van conversion ideas.
thoroubly enjoyable series ,so clear and conscise definitely food for thought
Gland you are enjoying the videos. Thanks for watching
I was thinking about doing my own van but after looking at this there's more to it than meets the eye you're a very clever man thanks for the video
Hi, Thanks a lot, yes there is quite a lot involved in making a camper van. But there are lots of good video tutorials and it just take a little time and practice.
Excellent job Dave. Not only the conversion but also the filming and editing!
Thanks Scott, Glad you like the van. I am using the osmo action to film all of this, its a great little action camera.
Great van. Great video. Canny location. Just along the road from me. 😎
Thanks Barry, I do all of my van tours on the dragon in Shields. Thanks for watching.
Fantastic job mate.well done👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Looks absolutely superb.
Thanks a lot Paul.
The van looks great, many thanks for sharing. I look forward to the rest of the build videos.
Thanks a lot, I'll upload each of the build series on a Sunday.
What a fabulous job you’ve done! It looks wonderful.
Thanks a lot. The van turned out really well.
Loving the journey Dave.
Thanks a lot and thanks for watching
Looks fantastic. Great job. Subscribed👍👍
Thanks Clare, I'm working on a new van and I have more videos to come on the recent conversion. Thanks for watching.
Dave your builds are just fantastic, I’ve watched all of your videos and they have given me so much inspiration for my own build which I’ve started and am showing on my channel too.
Keep up the great work 😊👍🏻
JP
Thanks a lot JP I'm glad the videos have been helpful. Good luck with your own conversion and I'll take a look at your channel. Thanks for watching.
Nice tidy set up 👌
Thanks a lot, I'm real happy with the way the van turned out.
Top job, very well done 😁
Thanks a lot Tom.
Great videos Dave and look forward to any more that you bring out it is good to see someone from the North East doing this I am just across the river from you in North Shields
Thanks a lot, I will be posting the rest of the build series of videos over the next few weeks. CZcams is great, viewers from USA, Australia and just across the river. Thanks for watching
Looks good love the aesthetic not overly keen on the standard layout but i'm sure it serves others well. Just bought a swb vivaro recently myself and have already started converting it, I deliberated for awhile wether to get one but I think I have a unique layout/ setup which will hopefully prove a winner.
Thanks, I know what you mean about the standard layout. The design is a little restricted with the R&R bed. The first conversion I did was a SWB with an L shaped seat at the back which folded out into the bed. Van No 3 is in the planning stage right now and it will be a different layout. Good luck with your own project and hanks for watching.
Great looking van, nice to see a step by step guide instead of a 20 minute time-lapse. I have a T6, I originally wanted to convert it but having 3 young children, the lack of seatbelts is an issue. I’ve had it for 5 years and plan to sell it in the new year, my neighbour has just bought a converted Sprinter and I’m jealous 🤢🤢🤢
I came across your videos looking for Vivaro builds, they’re cheaper to buy than a VW, and I think a better shape.
You’ve not mentioned money yet, I’m curious if you make money from the conversions. Buying the same van helps with future builds, instead of making one off templates you can re-use them and speed the process up.
Yes I prefer the Vivaro/Trafic to the VWs they are a slightly bigger van. I've converted 6 vivaros now and I have templates for all of the panels and furniture. The first one took me months to do but I can now turn them around in about 4 weeks. I have more planned for the year to come and I will be posting more videos from the planning stage to completion. I do sell the vans most of them have gone within a week or so of advertising them. Thanks for watching.
Lovely van Dave, I was worried I'd missed part of the series as you jumped from the ceiling to a completed van tour!!
Brilliant build, you must be chuffed to bits with it. Have you considered a swivel base for the passenger seats? Would give you more seating options. Also an awning?
Thanks Jac, I will upload the rest of the van build each Sunday, just got some more editing to do. But I put the van up for sale so I wanted to show the finished thing. And yes, an awning is on the cards and I'd like the swivel seat but I wanted a single passenger seat for that, still looking on ebay. Stay tunes the rest of the build is coming soon. Thanks
nice camper
Thanks a lot
Super Dave, been following from the start and love watching all the videos. Any plans to convert another van after you sell this one?
Hi Dean, Thanks for watching, I will be uploading the rest of the build series each week and yes I plan on getting another van and doing another conversion with a different layout. I'll also video that. Thanks again.
@@dave-watson cant wait woo
Stunning build, where did you het the table leg from?
Thanks a lot. I got the table leg and rail from a place called "clear cut conversions".
Very nice conversion. I'm doing a Renault trafic 2019 lwb.
Can you tell me how you got cable from van battery under bonnet to your leisure battery.
And where you got your fridge from.
Sad to hear you're selling it. Was looking forward to seeing your escapades.
Thanks David, The best place I found for the cables was through the grommet around the bonnet release cable. I traced it back through the cab and put a couple of holes in it and fed the cables through.
The fridge is the Alpicool R50 and if I remember correctly I got it from a place called clearcut conversions.
I intend to buy another van and convert it too and then get away in the late summer, so many escapades to come.
Good luck with your conversion, hope that helps.
Excellent video! I'm about a week away from buying almost the exact same van. How was it getting the bulkhead out? Thanks
Hi Arthur, the bulkhead came out quite easily. It's held on with a few Torx bolts and a couple of rivets which I drilled out. Good luck with your conversion and thanks for watching.
Outstanding video`s Dave , Just a quick question , as this has been converted from a normal van to a camper van , does it have to be deregistered with DVLA and registered as a camper van
I don't think is essential to change it with the DVLA. But to do so there is a list of requirements that the van must meet for the DVLA. One of then was it must have 2 windows on at least one side of the van. Thanks for watching and I'm glad you liked the videos.
Hi have you ever done a vivaro high top swb ,
No, I've always done the H1 vans....but I plan to get a H2 Boxer soon and convert it
Where did you get the rock & roll bed from ? As I am about to do my vivaro
Hi, I got the bed from a place called essex leisure furniture. Here is a link www.elfbeds.co.uk/beds/ hope that helps
Hi Dave, I was wondering if you did upgrades? I am looking at buying a fiat doblo, which needs a complete revamp. Is this something that you would consider?
Thanks
Hazel
Hi Hazel, I do do upgrades and full conversions, I did a ford connect a while ago for someone. Let me know when you get the van and we can discuss options and costs. Thanks Dave
Great build , are you thinking of selling this van ?
Hi, It sold a while ago. I'm about to start on another one and will be posting videos of the build.
Dave would you be interested in building a van for somebody else at all?
Hi Russ, I'm working on a ford connect micro camper refit for someone else right now. So I'm happy to do conversions depending on the van and what is needed.
I have had converted, a sister van to this and the Renault traffic, the Fiat Talento lwb crew cab van onyx edition. I bought my van brand new as a 70 reg, right in the jaws of the pandemic when vans were nearly unsellable. I paid £25k brand new including vat for the van and then got it fully converted in Otley. I have just sold the original rear seats for £400 and the conversion including the revolving double front passenger seats cost £18400 bringing the total converted price to £43000 for a brand new van, which is wider and bigger, with a 120 cm wide rib altair bed, instead of a 105 cm in a transporter. Who needs an inferior van just for the sake of badge snobbery, when you can save £22k ?
My van also comes with 2 x 95amp hour agm batteries, drivelodge pop top, sink and water pump, hob, gas locker, water containers, solar panel, canopy, webasto diesel heater fed from the main tank, etc, etc. By the
way, I have bought a 300 watt portable inverter from halfords, which plugs into one of the 12 volt sockets from halfords and even powers a television when off grid.
Sounds good Steve. I also prefer the Vivaro/Traffic over the VW. The VWs are quite a bit smaller and a lot more expensive. Hope you have many adventures in your van, Thanks Dave.
@@dave-watsonI had to wait months for the slot for the conversion to be done, it was finally completed in early December 2021. Since then we have been away 12 times, about once a fortnight. I am not being over dramatic in saying that it has completely changed my life !
@@stevezodiac491 I agree Steve. In my last van I tried to get away into the hills as often as I could and I always found it really lifted the spirits.
Brilliant.
Thanks very much
