- We took part in the Finnish hobby horse competitions, which are supposed to be the world's largest, this summer 2023. Skilled riders, great meetings, great shows and great hobby horses!

I used to do this when I was in fourth grade. Great fun! Only we had a person for the rider and the horse, reins, and we’d jump over the jumps together, horse first,rider next.

This was the Finnish Hobbyhorse Championships in 2023 in Seinäjoki, Finland. This year the Cahampionship is 15.6.2024 . Take a look: keppihevostensm.fi/en/home/

ok so a lot of people hate these, and tbh i do as well, i hate that they call themselves equestrians, but HEAR ME OUT! This sport originated around finland/switzerland, and there everyone's very Risk averse, so they created hobby horsing because riding real horses is much too dangerous, just a tidbit of facts!
That's actually really interesting about the origin of it, thanks for sharing that! I'm not hating on these people, they look like they are having a blast, personally I prefer real horses but I support people doing things like this hobby horse show, and model horse shows. lol Let them do their thing, is what I say! 💜🐴

Most of us actually do ride real horses, so we are equestrians and we don’t do hobby horsing because real horses are too dangerous

Most hobby-horser’s do ride! And some can’t afford real horseback riding lessons so it’s a cheaper/less dangerous option for some!! 😃🐴🎠

This is Absolutely Brilliant !!!!!! 😂❤ Hobby Horses Have been Very Popular for Centuries. 😊😍 I live in Northern Ireland ☘️ and have been mad about Horses since a child (now 66 & Still Love them) 😍😊❤️ My dad made us Hobby Horses as children & I was Well known in our street for Trotting with the Exact timing & Cantering etc 😊👍 These young Competitors Are Certainly Fit !!!!
