In the 1980's (while in my 20's), I was your typical young man, and kind of ashamed to admit that I really enjoyed Rick Springfield's music, as it seemed it was only the girls I knew that loved him, not the guys. So I listened to it in private. Recently (in 2015), my girlfriend (a huge fan) got us tickets to see him live here in Bismarck, ND. It was a fantastic show, and I was amazed to discover that he could actually play the guitar, and was really good at it. Up until then, I had always assumed that he was just pretending in the old music videos for show. But no, he plays great, both rhythm and lead, electric and acoustic. I was astounded. So lately I've been looking up some of his more recent tunes here on CZcams, and damn. His songwriting is better than ever, addressing topics far more diverse than he did in his earlier days. This guy is more than just eye-candy for women that happens to write catchy pop songs. He is a bona-fide musician with a real understanding of music theory and the ability to give captivating performances live. The dude works hard, and has an obvious love for his craft. Time for me to pick up a couple of his CDs. My girlfriend bought us the tickets last time, but if he ever comes to Bismarck again, this time it will be on me.

I had some of Ricks albums when I was a teenager. Don’t know how many needles on my stereo I wore out, but it was a lot. I hope you are rowing for me. Sometimes I pray that someone is. Haven’t been to any of Ricks concerts. Maybe he’ll have one in Florida in 2022.

lejjamie1 Actually, read the lyrics of his 80's songs and you'll find he was never bubble gum - he always rocked and sang about mature subject matter. He was too damn good looking for his own good in the age of video. It was a double edged sword for him. Rock of Life was his master piece IMHO. Then he self exiled due to depression and writing block. Glad he made it back.

Yes a long time ago in the 80s when you were an actor on General Hospital Dr Noah Drake aka Rick Springfield !♥️ MY late mom would be watching General Hospital and was watching it with her. MY mom passed away from DEMENTIA on August of 2020.

Last I heard Rick was coming to Hawaii and I moved away, I was about 16 then. I dunno if he came here or not. I followed him until then, but then I didn't for awhile. Have been watching again since about 2008. Hope he's doing well.
