Skin was absolutely beautiful. I CRIED because he was so deserving of this & I feel like a proud mom. I'm also upset that this is in the PRE SHOW and not the actual awards show. He deserves the recognition from the actual show; this entire category deserves it.

Dance/ Electronic music is more popular than 90% of the genre's thats given main stage presence....why is this a Pre-show, cut the number of performances and give us more awards Grammys
i'm sorry but other than flume, did you really know any of those other artists nominated? i didn't and i'm highly into the EDM scene. these artists still have a VERY small following compared to like Beyonce, Adele, Kayne West, even the country artists. not only that but EDM is more geared towards the younger audience and the Grammy's is organized by an older generation. you cant expect them to just give awards to all EDM genres, atleast not right now since it's still a young culture
you're not wrong at all man, I agree, but aren't they supposed to be nominating and picking based on how good the song is and not how famous the artist is? I know they'll continue to push top 40 to consumer culture forever but they deserve so much more than people like Adele who just sing and probably have no idea what Ableton or FL studio are. Just my opinion but they always pick based on fame not talent.
yeah but at the same time, music is subjective. Of course there are tons of edm artists who deserve more recognition, but how are you supposed to judge EDM when they are just too many genres out there. Every god damn month somebody invents a new form of genre and how can an organization like the grammys judge it's content? if someone is "famous" it means a lot of people LOVE their music so for me that tells me they make good music because its liked by lots of people. Hate all you want on the mainstream, that's the music that sells and most people like, as sad as that sounds since i'm not at all a mainstream fan
jackyman5 I agree it would be hard to organize it, its just with the mainstream artists 100's of peoples lives depend on their success so the companies push their music to every radio station all over the world to be played over and over and have insane marketing&advertising campaigns. The reason people love the music is because its drilled into their head everywhere they go with maximum exposure. The mainstream artists aren't just singers anymore they're literally just turned into a company/brand themselves that other people survive and can profit hugely off of. But yeahh I feel you
true cant argue with that, hopefully they capture a bigger audience for more edm artists bcuz i see a ton of potential there. plus its easier than ever to get your music noticed with how crazy the internet is right now

EDM is sill a young Genre, give it time. Plus, I don't think half the audience listens to EDM since most of them are pretty old.

Louie even got House Diva Adeva (who grabbed my thigh at Club Arena bac around '94 or '95) to sing on one of his grammy nominated album tracks!

I like both Tycho and Flume, but I think Flume deserved this one. Skin is filled with so unique pieces. Epoch is very close but I still prefer Skin. Different styles I know, hard to judge.
