Here's a quick tip for you: As soon as you grab your drone, flip it upside down quickly. That will stop the motors automatically, without having to touch the controller.
I was genuinely concerned for your drone’s safety. Nice catch lol
Right. I was highly concerned..lol
I am going to take mine ,on a day trip to little tybee island.Hope it goes well.
That should be fun!! Looks like a really cool place to adventure.
Beautiful!! Can't wait to use my again. Good job man :D
Thanks man. What kind do you have?
@@cBelowH2O saturn 12.5 with 20hp Tohatsu
That's a sweet looking Bris! It would be tons and tons of fun to get to enjoy a beautiful day on the river in one someday!
Thanks man. Its a fun little boat for sure!!! Anything is possible!!
@@cBelowH2O 😎😊You're quite welcome man! That's awesome to see that it's a fun little boat to have! I have a really good feeling you're gonna still have it for a long time to come. I'm here in IL too.
Really nice setup!! I have the same boat, and just upgraded from a Coleman 9.8hp 4 stroke to the same engine you have, a Mercury 20hp 4 stroke short shaft 2020, I'm excited about taking it out in the next few weeks to my closest lake, Elephant Butte, NM!!
Nice! Have you tried your new 20HP out? That's a huge upgrade from a 9.8 HP.
how did it ride with the 9.8?
@@doublepitstochesty1I also want to know this. What was the top speed?
I didn't actually measure the speed, but it was decent with only 2 people on board!
czcams.com/video/DcosfMlwUog/video.html&feature=share9
My experience with zodiac boats in the army, id take one anywhere as long as it holds air.
I agree!! But I have yet to take it everywhere. 😀
You can set the drone to go back to we’re the control is fact I have a phantom 4 pro woth sensors always change the settings to go back to the control fact and the sun also affects the drone sensor s and as long as you keep it 8 feet above the water your good
Good idea to take note of for next time. I was in a current so the boat was constantly moving, so I'm not sure it would have made much difference in this situation. Lol
Id go in the ocean with ya on that.. but im in cali
Well if Im ever over that way, I'll let ya know. Otherwise the Gulf is in my near future.:)
I took saturn cb 330 to pacific ocean
How was that?
I will go out in the ocean with you. But I live in south Florida.
Sounds like the perfect place to take it out!! :) Although may want to stay away from Haulover inlet in this little boat..lol
Could I trouble you for a question. I need to make a trailer for my FC470 so I appreciate you showing us this off the trailer. I see you have used what we call UniStrut for for you bunk uprights.
Can I ask;
What bracket have you used to connect the Unistrut to the Bunk ?
So I connected 2 unistrut pieces to form an "L" shape by using a 90 degree bracket to hold them together...then just lagged bolted it to the underside of the bunk.
Love the video. My home! Been looking at how small boats perform on the local stretch of the Mississippi, this was very helpful! Ps if you like bicycles we have some decent trails just down the road from where you launched.
Thanks! This boat is about as small as they get..lol. and that's cool, I havent rode in years (10+ years), but Ive seen those trails but never rode them. I got more into water/underwater adventures. :)
@@cBelowH2O hey you're in illinois? What size boat is that cuz I was looking at getting the 15.4
@@popitscorner777 Yes, in western Illinois. Its the the 12 ft. I thought about the 15 ft one, but didnt want one quite that big. If you plan on more than 2 people, 15ft would be better.
@@cBelowH2O I'm in Wisconsin by Madison what would you charge to build a trailer like that to fit a 15.4 just out of curiosity if I brought you a trailer you would just have to add all the stuff to make the boat fit and be properly secured
@@cBelowH2O including the seats I would need two of them with storage like you have
I'd love to take a three hour tour with you on that Bris!! I'll meet you halfway. Gulf of Mexico somewhere?
Lol. Hoping to take it down to the Gulf sometime - in the Florida Panhandle. Where you located?
@@cBelowH2O San Francisco Bay Area I've got the Bris 12 1/2 with 20 hp Tohati. but I've been having so many problems with mine though
@@QtheminiQ Thats pretty far from the Gulf...lol. what problems do you have with your boat?
@@cBelowH2OHalfway?
My Bris aluminum floor panels bent, so the stringers would not snap on to sides. still waiting for replacements.
Well done with catching the drone 😅
Quick question: I am towing between an inflatable kayak-canoe or a nice inflatable like yours. An inflatable will ofcourse have more space. But can you tell me how practical you think it will be for river use with paddles. Will it work if my wife sits in the front and me at the back - both of us rowing? I don’t think we will do more then a few miles a day if that
Thanks man!! I think a boat like this would be pretty practical and could always put a little trolling motor on it if you ever wanted to. The inflatable kayaks are quite small and narrow, but would work for just cruising down the river if you weren't doing much else on it. Hope that helps.
Many thanks for the reply…and the style of using the paddles I described you think will be ok?
Mississippi River - always wanted to see it. Still the Thames in its upper reaches is delightful
@@ajmal4149 Not a problem. And yea, that style of paddles would work fine.
Got the same exact boat and just put it together with my son today. Picking up a 10hp Yam to put on it from a relative of mine. Your setup looks great. I need to get a few things too 😎
Awesome!! You'll love it. Makes getting on the water super easy. Hope you enjoy it!!
Can you mount a trolling motor on the front and anchor in the front I'm a catfisher live near the Mississippi and Missouri River
You very well could with a somewhat custom mount. 😀
Nice video! Really enjoyed it alot. I have the same Bris and a Tohatsu 20HP that I took to the Bay a bit, but not in rough water. Videos are in my channel. Which drone do you have? I'm thinking of getting a small one too.
Thanks man!! Appreciate it!! That water you were on is much nicer..lol..and some Bays can get pretty rough with boat traffic. How fast did you get it up to?
This drone is the DJI Mavic Air (first model). I love it - Ive taken great care of it and just now started getting a little more daring with it. :)
@@cBelowH2O when I had the 11.5 prop on, in calm water I got up to almost 22mph with 3 people. I changed to 10p and get around 20+mph or so. But my RPM went from 5700-5800 to 6000-6100 with the smaller pitch prop.
@@sonnycao Thats actually pretty good with 3 people onboard. Nice boat you got there!! I thought about changing the prop but wanted to take it on calm waters first and/or reduce/rearrange the onboard weight.
@@cBelowH2O thanks! I’m happy with the speed any faster I would get wet in some choppy water. Lol. The Bris with the console and Honda 20hp is a friend’s. Same boat. He switched from a 4 blade to a 3 blade stainless steel prop and only managed about 17-18 with 3, I think he carried more weight.
@@sonnycao Right. Im happy with the speed as well. Didnt really get it to go fast...lol...
I go to the ocean I take my twelve in Douglas channel and many km away from where I launch one of the hotsprings only access isn't boat is 25km from where I launch
love the trailer design. any sway while towing at 60+ mph?
Thanks...no swaying, but bounces a little bit with the weight of the motor on the very back. If I was to trailer it a far distance, I'd probably take motor off and lay it in truck or IN the boat over the axle to help the weight distribution.
Can you give the link to transducer mount? Is it scottys attachment?
Yes. There is links in this video description for transducer. czcams.com/video/gAEfuiNgYtU/video.htmlsi=GUy3K2VfHmtxVRjQ
I would that Bris Rubber boat would handle the ocean perfect like the coast guard zodiac.
Lol. Right! I agree.
Did you have any problems getting the boat registered? What did you show for proof? Thanks
Didn't have any problem. Boat came with a proof of purchase certificate.
Awesome!! Is motor 9.9?
Thanks! Its actually a 20HP motor.
Would u be able todo a tutorial on how to make those seats you have
I could yes - I could show how I made the seats and what products I used.
Im in construction so always have a BUNCH of materials laying around, so ended up using stuff I had.
That’s awesome yeah you seem to really know what your doing. Would you be able to send me a list of the material I would need to make those like the measurements and stuff my 12.5 is coming in the mail and your videos are very helpful.
@@bryankelly70 Thanks! Of course I could. Was going to do a video this week of the seat design/function and can also send you materials and measurements. You can email me at cbaqualife@gmail.com and I'll send you the info.
What transducer mount is it that you have? How sturdy is it? Have you had it up to full speed with the arm in the water?
Its a kayak transducer mount. I listed the link in the description of that video. Its pretty sturdy for what I need it for. I have gone full speed multiple times with the arm in the water but loses its sturdiness since it flexes with the inflatable tube so I typically swing it up since the transducer wont read at full speed anyway and dont want to put extra stress on the arm for no reason.
Hello, I like that boat and I'm about to purchase it. My only concern that in southern california the weather is really hot and in the summer this black color will make the boat even hotter and toasty to touch. it's a 1.2mm which is why I like it but the color is my issue. Asking for a friend ! do you guys see my point or is it really not a big deal ?
My last concern is that I'll be taking it off shore , down to Catalina island. is it safe ? will it do ok ? My motor is 20HP suzuki.
Hey. I haven't tested how much heat the black retains compared to a lighter color. From what I've learned from others is the black will be a little bit hotter than say a white one. It gets about as hot as a vinyl boat seat would get. I usually just splash some water on it if I need to touch a spot that's not already wet..lol...as far as being safe, these boats are pretty safe. There is 3 individual chambers of air on this boat so one or two can get deflated and retain its buoyancy. They are high volume, low pressure tubes so would never pop like a tire or other high pressure tube would. Always keep a pump and materials to fix a hole on board at all times so repairs would be simple and can be done easily on the water. You can literally fill this boat with water and it will not sink, unlike a jon boat or fiberglass hull boat. Hope that helps.
Is a long or short shaft in the motor?
Short shaft
How did you get your registration letters, numbers and sticker to stick to your inflatable. I own a 13' Saturn Kaboat and was not able to get them to stick. One problem is that I deflate the boat for transporting it and that causes them to fall off.
I actually bought the material with the numbers on them and glued the one whole piece of material onto the boat, I have a video showing the material and where I ordered it from. Hope that helps.
Dangerous having a pb battery enclosed..
What was motor horsepower and top speed with your setup?
It's a 4 stroke 20HP. Top speed of around 20 MPH.
What psi do you inflate all the chambers to in that boat? Also that trailer is slick!
Only 3 - 5 psi.
I am thinking to purchase the exact same boat. Can you tell me how is it holding so far? Any issues or regrets?
Boat is holding up 👍 But I do take care of it pretty well and it's garage kept. 😀 No issues.
@cBelowH2O
How long have you had it so far? I read reviews that after two years the handles and seams fall apart and confess off... those are deterrent reviews.
@@aaronjahed2692 I've had it a few years. I read those same reviews as well....not everyone takes care of things the same...lol..
Hello…. Where did you find the “L” shape brackets to support the bunks? I have the same boat and I’m having difficulty getting the bunks as wide as the tubes….. any insight is appreciated! Thanks
Hello
I got the L shaped brackets at Home Depot in electrical by the "C" channel, which I also used. And used 2x12 treated lumber wrapped in outdoor carpet for the bunk.
Thank you so much
@@kyesto Anytime!
I’ll go with you on the ocean🤥 by way of FaceTime. 😄 My Bad! If you did take it on the ocean the video after that might be your family placing a wreath on the water where you went down. So please don’t try it.
Lol. :) I can definitely understand how that could be unsafe in the wrong conditions. I honestly wouldnt do anything that would put me in harms way. I do apply highly safe practices anytime Im on or near water, and do not take that lightly. Water needs respect as its WAY more powerful than me. :)
What is the dimensiozy of those seats? Thank you
Thanks for the question, you'll find all the details of seats in the linked video description.
czcams.com/video/gAEfuiNgYtU/video.html
How long have you had the boat and how is it holding up? Some people say Bris inflatables can leak within a year or two and they don't last very long. Others have had them for over 5 years.
I've had mine for almost 2 years. Everything's still as it was new, but I do keep it inflated and garage kept on the trailer, so it's never out in the elements, which I believe makes a huge difference in how long it will last.
@@cBelowH2O Great video. Really well done.
Thanks! Waiting for this weather to warm up to get back it.
The navy and coast uses them way the F off sure there fine to go
My thoughts exactly! 😀
i also live in illinois any problems registering the boat?
Registering boat is pretty simple, just choose the correct vessel.
What size is the boat and what outboard you using?
Its a 12.5 ft boat. The motor is a Mercury 20HP 4 stroke.
We’re did get your trailer?
I got a traditional boat trailer from a buddy, stripped it down to the frame and rebuilt it to fit this boat.
what motor do you have ?
It's a 2010 Mercury 20HP 4 stroke - short shaft.
@@cBelowH2O thanks . MPH?
@@jaysaeger1769 I've gotten it up to 20mph.
Question, how do you hold those new seats on the floor?
The middle seat has the weight of the battery in it and back one has gas tank strapped to the floor through the base of the seat. Also I have d-rings attached to seat boxes perfectly in line with the d rings on boat so can clip them in if I ever wanted to.
Secure your license plate on the trailer! People will steal it
Good idea! Never thought about someone stealing it.
i have a bris catamaran, get an extra fuel tank and i'll meet you in Port Lincoln, South Australia, bring your dive gear and a spare pair of underwear 🦈
Water looks absolutely unpleasant.
@@Booboosik I completely agree! 😀
