Same me too, as the viola section leader for my orchestra, we're playing this piece this year and I love it so much the solo in the beginning gives me chills whenever I play it and I find it so fun to play, the whole piece is a wonderful masterpiece that people should hear
Omg finally another Viola player! I'm not alone and this song is so nostalgic..! I was in a moment of joy the first time I ever played this piece and I hope you were too.
My orchestra never could've played this piece at the beginning of the year, we tried in September, and then when we tried in May we could play it in one go and we sounded amazing. Patience and passion in music really does pay off after awhile.
I played this in middle school.. now as a senior in high school, I'm thinking that this is so easy. And I used to think it was hard! It's still as beautiful as I remember. ❤
When I first received the music today in class I was like “this looks really hard and boring” and then we listented, sight read and played through it and it’s the most beautiful song ever 🤧💖
my orchestra teacher gave me a solo on the cello, because I was like the only one who could play the c major stuff around measure 27 on the cello, correctly. lmao
I played this song for my last concert, it took a while to get used to playing so slow cause our other songs were so fast. The Cello part (which I play) was so fun, and I loved our duets with the Violas! 11/10 song
So in my school there is Beginning, Intermediate, Advanced, Symphonia, and Chamber. I am Intermediate and i convinced my Orchestra teacher that we could play this and to be honest this is just GORGEOUS! Plus, the chamber(highest level) is playing it too. And for those who comment what they play, i am first violin and i like my part a lot. And for those Bass players who complain in the comments, I love your part btw.
whoa its been two years lol, i came back to this song because were actually playing it now. i commented that before covid and we never actually got to play it. Fast forward now im ending my middle school year. I still love this song, my class hates it lol, i still think its a beautiful piece and i get to be violin one first chair for it so im really excited. Its the only song i still get chills listening to thats how pretty it is.
Playing This song this year and its so beautiful and I'm a Viola but all the violas have to play this in front of the class to see who can play it good and I hope I can play it good for solo
Even years after playing it, this song still sounds lovely to me. (I played it in middle school.) When I played it I thought it was hard but now I think it's super easy. It is so beautiful.
Played this song early on in middle school. Still to this day one of my favorite pieces while in high school. I have it memorized by this point. I remember being so excited about the viola solo at the beginning because my section leader was fantastic and I thought she deserved one 😂. Such an amazing piece. It just sticks with you.
I play the violin, and I just love this song so much!! I didn't love playing the high part, so I was glad when I got to play the second violin part, but this song is amazing!! Was my classes favorite song to play in out entire spring concert lineup, and we were awesome!!
I played this both in honors orchestra and my school orchestra and I loved how pretty it was. I love how that in this video, you can actually tell that there's a bass part too. I played this song on viola for my honors orchestra but I played bass for my schools orchestra and only had 2 weeks to get this song down, but I nailed it!! This song is so prettyand its so fun to play.
This came up on my suggested page and I'm crying I love playing this with my orchestra freshman year. Makes me miss playing with an orchestra im going to be a senior in college now and I dont play my violin anymore 😢😢 I also can't find a good version of this on Spotify and I would like it to be on my playlist
Happened on this song again by chance. I remember playing it in middle or high school. The memories. Sat next to my best friend, we were 1st and 2nd chairs in the 2nd violin section, then worked our way up and became 1st and 2nd chairs of the full orchestra. Good good times.
Damn... this piece is beautiful! I'm playing this on the violin in my orchestra right now... The Più mosso reminds me of Chopin's second ballade for some reason.
The Bean practice at a slower tempo then make your way up, try to go with the flow of the song, don't play to staccatoey and if you mess up it's okay and try again, if you don't get the main then that should motivate you to do even better for the next solo opportunity you have
i’m so lucky i was able to be the viola soloist for this song back in the 7th grade. i’m surprised i outdid the 8th graders because they’re pretty good and l was sure i wouldn’t get the solo.
I'm learning this song in my orchestra (I'm 13) and it is the most beautiful song I've ever played (I've been playing for 7 years) it is truly wonderful Can someone tell me what the tempo is it doesn't say on the music
Playing as violin one and its amazing!! I love how violas and cellos get recognized in this piece! I’m debating if whether or not I like dragon hunter or this better… this is definitely more challenging but I like the intenseness of dragon hunter… if anyone knows and has played both pieces, what do you th8nk?
Played this as a viola. Liked the song. Hated playing it, because I became a violinist to bolster my ego with melody, not to pluck every now and then. :)
The cello part is incredible
That's something a cello player would say
I’m playing with the video rn and ahhhh it’s so good
Yeah it is incredible....its also fun to play.....I'm a cello player😜
camaka true too true we’re playing this in 0hr
The reason I play cello right here.
As a viola, or just someone who adores classical music, this literally makes my heart sing and sway. Such a beautiful piece that was so fun to play.
Same I played this in HS years ago and it stuck with me my whole life
You are not a viola.
Same me too, as the viola section leader for my orchestra, we're playing this piece this year and I love it so much the solo in the beginning gives me chills whenever I play it and I find it so fun to play, the whole piece is a wonderful masterpiece that people should hear
@Anonymous probably
Omg finally another Viola player! I'm not alone and this song is so nostalgic..!
I was in a moment of joy the first time I ever played this piece and I hope you were too.
when everyones talking about how they play all the main parts but you're a bass 😢
Kwamez Adams relatable😤
Hey another bass!
my teacher actually let the basses play the cello part, it was great!
Who remembers the pizzicato for bass
Jokes on them, we're still the most important instrument in the orchestra
My orchestra never could've played this piece at the beginning of the year, we tried in September, and then when we tried in May we could play it in one go and we sounded amazing. Patience and passion in music really does pay off after awhile.
I played this in middle school.. now as a senior in high school, I'm thinking that this is so easy. And I used to think it was hard!
It's still as beautiful as I remember. ❤
loll
Currently playing this song as a viola. I just adore this song :)

Am I late? Just got the piece as a violist got the solo
same, it’s pretty much the only song we get the melody on, and i adore it
First of all, it is a piece. Second of all, you are not a viola.
When I first received the music today in class I was like “this looks really hard and boring” and then we listented, sight read and played through it and it’s the most beautiful song ever 🤧💖
I wrote lyrics to the cello part when I played this a couple years ago, and turned it into a duet for my sister and I. It still inspires me so much
Queen Sairai That's incredible; would you be willing to share?

Got to play this as a cello, it was pretty fun
my orchestra teacher gave me a solo on the cello, because I was like the only one who could play the c major stuff around measure 27 on the cello, correctly. lmao
KingOfHearts *checks music* yes measure 27! i can’t play it rn bc we just got the piece in 7-2 (7th grade 2nd class) but it sounds amazing!!!

i play this as a cello, and it is truly beautiful with the whole orchestra together.
I played this song for my last concert, it took a while to get used to playing so slow cause our other songs were so fast. The Cello part (which I play) was so fun, and I loved our duets with the Violas!

It's really nice a little faster than this speed

All time favorite song I played in middle school. I was first chair in second which was so much fun!
The seconds... underrated, but in pieces like this...
Ooh same!
This is the one that got my kid to love classical music.
The cellos have the best part hands down
I remember replaying this for middle school orchestra in 2000... 2021 now and I still remember how to play it
I played this both in honors orchestra and my school orchestra and I loved how pretty it was. I love how that in this video, you can actually tell that there's a bass part too.
I played this song on viola for my honors orchestra but I played bass for my schools orchestra and only had 2 weeks to get this song down, but I nailed it!! This song is so prettyand its so fun to play.

Playing this song in my orchestra!!!
I came here to listen to the solo because I'm trying out for it... I have doubts now.
I'm in the top two for the solo which means I'll at least be the understudy if I don't get the solo... Any tips?
The Bean practice at a slower tempo then make your way up, try to go with the flow of the song, don't play to staccatoey and if you mess up it's okay and try again, if you don't get the main then that should motivate you to do even better for the next solo opportunity you have
Jonathan kline We had the second round of auditions 3 weeks ago. I got understudy. 😊
its not too difficult
also, for auditions, go like 5 beats slower unless YOU HAVE to play it fast and stuff. i always play pretty slow and i get principal
I'm excited to play this in orchestra! I'm a cello!
Been 4 years and we’re still playing this song
i’m so lucky i was able to be the viola soloist for this song back in the 7th grade. i’m surprised i outdid the 8th graders because they’re pretty good and l was sure i wouldn’t get the solo.
I love this song. I play the 1st violin part
Cello is amazing in this

So fun to play, I play the viola.
There's just this euphoria..it's just..I don't even have a word for it, just Jesus Christ Almighty, it's (HELP ME THE FIND WORD PLS)
Idk how , but the first violins were about 3 measures ahead during our contest, and I'm still salty about it.
Playing this as cello
I will always remember playing this in 6th grade with a bunch of 8th graders.

Don't be scared, I don't get to play it, yet I am confident I can do it.
I'm learning this song in my orchestra (I'm 13) and it is the most beautiful song I've ever played (I've been playing for 7 years) it is truly wonderful
