It's wonderful of you to take your time and answer your fans like this. Thank you very much for your caring and attention towards us all. I have all of your books in hardcover (since I bought them a long long time ago when e-readers were not a reality) but I have to admit I love the practicality of having all of your books in my tablet to read whenever I want, so I also have a copy there.
Mrs. Rice I agree completely any one of your works are beautifully written and would make a great movie. I myself look forward to the day I can see a series of your caliber on the big screen. I am more inspired by your work than any other author and I always say Anne Rice is my favorite author #justsayin
Thank you so much for taking the time to answer all that question, I really appreciated this video and the one about writing advice. About the movies, honestly I don't trust cinematographic industry very much. I mean, sure they COULD do some wonderful movies about the Vampire Chronicles, but actually I fear they would just ruin them in order to make them "modern" without caring about being faithful to the original text. (Just like Queen Of Damned)
Ten years later & she’s gone. I wonder if she can still hear Lestat now that she’s passed. I like to think they are still connected and I don’t even think that’s wishful thinking❤️
I was excited to hear that they are planning to make The Tale of the Body Thief into a movie, because that book is my favorite of the vampire chronicles and one of my favorite books of all time. I really hope this one will be made and that it will be made well. Oh and I find it funny that the black/grey fabric on the sofa in the backround, I have that same fabric, only it's black/purple and they're curtains. Thank you for this Q&A session, it was really interesting. Love from Sweden!
you're my favourite author..i've read all of your books and I can't wait until the next vampire chronicle book claudia's story..i'm counting down the days
Exquisite. You are a national and indeed international treasure. I appriciate the lovely attention to detail both in the formulation of your thoughts and the choice of dress and accessories..a thouroughly satisfying vision of romance and tenderness for your adoring fans.
Can't you contact a budding screenwriter and have them do a mock script(treatment) not a full one just one to send out to publishers. If they like it they will then find a full time screen writer and move from there? Waiting for Hollywood come to you might take forever. It also lets you help control the story version as you control the initial treatment.
They totally trivalized the debate between Akasha and her 'children'. Marius (who did not make Lestat) In the book Marius had a long argument for Akasha. He was never jealous of Lestat drinking from Akasha (he himself had many many times) and Marius never try to hide Enkil and Akasha from Lestat. Anyway, my point is that a very well thought-out and seductive story was turned into a joke from a movie point of view. Honestly, don't bother seeing the movie, just buy and read the book.
You seemed to have had complete control over "Interview with the Vampire" as a movie, insofar as the story, &c.; why did you not do the same with "Queen of the Damned"? and if they had the rights to THAT, how did they legally lift story lines from "The Vampire Lestat" as part of it? Just curious.

She was right about Vampire Lastat ...
I prefer hard cover books, but in some cases I can't afford to buy the book so that's when E-books becomes useful.
She answers that question in the video above.
I love you

hmm, I thought the vamp chronicles did have an order like interview with the vamp went first, then the vampire lestat was a prequal to that and so on.
