Did you know he made jingles for the Tokyo trains?
Hi, could you do the score for this: czcams.com/video/iAwl_an5XUA/video.html. Is from someone and my country and I would be very happy if you did it.
The title could be: When your uncle says he plays "a little bit of guitar"
Ever considered jacob collier's dancing queen? would love if you did :))
@@teegeevee42 besides Casiopea he s almost equally as known for his jingles now it seems hehe
But with those jingles he s probably the most listened to artist in the whole world right now... or at least among the most listened to

Minoru Mukaiya was the keyboardist of Casiopea since 1977 until 2006. Now he’s composing melodies for train stations in Japan. What a guy!
For ages I've had casiopea in my rotation and a couple years ago I've watched a random youtube doc about japanese trainstation tunes. When I put one and one together ...and they ultimately played casiopea in the video my mind was actually blown lol. I mean an american equivalent would be if it turned out Herbie Hancock wrote the standard alarms on iPhones
Wait, he was the bloke that James May visited????
@@wonsunnyday yes that bloke

"you're gonna listen to some dope shit whether you want to or not" lmao
YES I’ve always wanted this one, the way the keyboardist *looks* at their goofy synchronized dances while playing the funkiest solo of all time never ceases to amaze me, long live Casiopea
You don’t know what the funk is if you think this is the funkiest. It is just pop music nary a funk to it

I absolutely LOVE how overjoyed everyone in the band looks. I would be pogging too if I heard that sick ass key solo.
They're pogging out of their minds
They're pogging out of their gourd
They're pogging off their bean
they're pogging off their balls
They're pogging out of their noggin
Glad to see jazz fusion bands getting love.
Yes, I need weather report next
@@watermelone_man Return to Forever. Stanley Clarke is of the greatest bassists of all time, Chick Corea one of the greatest to ever chose the keyboard as his medium of choice, Al Di Meiola among the greatest shred guitarists of all time, and Lenny White holding it all together as one of the most underrated jazz drummers of all time. You'd be hard pressed to find a quartet with more talent.
@@tjenadonn6158 Yeah, I should listen more to Chick Corea since I love the light as a feather album... But as a defeance, I can say Jaco, Wayne and Zawinul together was just as talented as that quartet, that is in my opinion.
@@watermelone_man are you talking about the song by Incognito 👀
Or something different
@@derpkipper the legendary jazz fusion group lead by Wayne Shorter and Joe Zawinul.
the fact that this section is ONLY a keyboard and drumset really shows how talented these players are. Two instruments and they both add enough to make it into a mesmerizing and exciting feature
honestly, it also adds to how amazing the sound engineer was at this show! when the other two instruments come in, it doesn't sound like a wall of sound completely came out of nowhere.
Everything about Casiopea is fun and free yet somehow crisp and technical.
@@mybluguitar6051 sound engineer did a great job, but it helps that you've got a lot of the frequency spectrum covered from low to high between a piano and the drums. They're already gonna sound very full together, and when you throw on the effects (reverb, some chorus, possibly a little bit of flange even) you're gonna get some nice results. I'm still amazed at the range of sound they get, though, it's all solid work all around.
0:32 feels like I've just picked up and invincibility star.
same
He really doubled down on the “0:30 is the section you want to hear again” a full minute later and he isn’t wrong.
if you're clicked into the player, you can just press the 4 key and it skips back to exactly the right moment.
CASIOPEA's Live Performances are an absolute Goldmine of improv, as well as impeccable playing
Glad to see the circle of fifths still goes as hard as it did 400 years ago. The GOAT chord sequence.
Unlike a lot of spicy chords I see, including on this channel, this ridiculous, obscene spiciness just WORKS.
It's a circle of fifths, it always works
Back in 2016, my old college roommate gave me a USB with Casiopea, Jiro Inagaki, Akira Ishikawa, Takuya Kuroda and a whole bunch of other fusion bands. Single-handedly changed my life.
goat
Casiopea's not a band, its an addiction
The 0:30 probably the spiciest chord progression of all time
It's literally just a circle of fifths progression with extended chords. Not _that_ spicy.
@@karlpoppins Oh. Dang, the song sucks now, it's just a circle of fifths, dang wish I didn't know that.
@@michelvanbriemen3459 Did I say the song sucks? I love Casiopea, but this is not "the spiciest chord progresion of all time".
@karl poppins Maybe not spiciest, but definitely one of the most satisfying progressions
@@Esgelrothion Sure thing, these are some nice phat chords, especially the b9 ones.
0:32 onward is the "Select your Driver" Screen music in video games xD
When Jazz Fusion/City Pop started getting big again, one of the main things people said it that it reminded them of 90s video game music.
Guess what most of those composers were inspired by lol
YES! This is one of my favorite clips of all time. They’re having so much FUN and their joy is infectious. No pretense, no irony, no playing cool - they’re just in the moment, being silly and making each other smile. This is what playing music is all about, just sheer unadulterated joy with others. I was so happy to see this pop up on one of my favorite channels ❤
i love this era of casiopea and japanese music, there are so many hidden gems if you go searching through hundreds of hours of this stuff
That's the problem
I love how Mukaiya’s just laughing at his buddies’ dancing as he tears a hole in funk space time
This sounds like the most intense Rainbow Road race ever, like you put your life on the line if you don't finish first.
Space Road
I'm very happy that Casiopea is loved by friends all over the world.
Greetings from Japan.
As a lover of rock and metal music, myself, I've been having a great time discovering bands from Japan. There's so much great music that comes out of Japan that it's a shame more Americans aren't aware of it.
No, it's a shame the rest of the world dont know about it. This is music at its finest. Just do yourself a favor, when you come to America, don't turn on the radio. It's fucking embarrassing what is considered music nowadays. I've gone many years without listening to the radio. I have playlists on YT or my phone. I'd rather listen to that.
i love how we all love the part at 0:30, i mean how can u not those chords are perfection
Thank god Jazz Fusion getting some love on this channel this solo man Casiopea and japanese jazz musicians are just on ANOTHER LEVEL
Another level? Level 42? czcams.com/video/Oov7YEZMj8g/video.html
Casiopea's grooviness is just out of this world. They are incredibly talented and you can see they have a lot of fun playing, the songs are amazing and amazingly fun to listen to, but also quite musically complex, what more could you want from a band?
i didnt even see the "youll replay this section five times" untill I replayed it for the 5th time lol
Yeah that chord progression is pure bliss
0:32 ridculously catchy
George I love how your notes are literally what we're all thinking . Literally replayed that one bit like 4 times over haha Keep up the awesome work Mr. Collier! LONG LIVE CASIOPEA!
"Galactic" ultimately comes from the Greek word meaning "milk". So I have begun an uncomfortable tradition with my friends of referring to this tune as "Milky Funk".
I'm really glad to have gotten in on this little Casiopea resurgence early. As a bass player, I've never been super inspired by slap players until I hear Sakurai do it. I really hope I get to meet him someday.
I absolutely love his playing in Space Road. Well, I just love Space Road in general, haha.

FINALLY CASIOPEA
Their pianist during this era uses such fucking awesome dissonances, I'd LOVE to see their stuff covered more. They're so overlooked
My favorite fact about this keyboardist Minoru Mukaiya is that he wrote entire music theme for Tokyo's train stations.
Minoru Mukaiya is famous for his giant love of trains.
Every station in Tokyo have a special "jingle". But if you sum up all these jingles of all train stations, they will come up into a song.
You should google that up, it's fucking incredible. As Minoru Mukaiya himself.
The way he talks about it...oh
I wish all teachers would talk like that about their subjects, like Minoru talks about trains.
You guys definitely need to find and watch the video.
As a funk keys player who also loves trains, Minoru Mukaiya is who I aspire to be.
czcams.com/video/nSG5IkRA9BE/video.html
Not sure if that's the exact video, but it touches on everything you said! Very cool guy!
czcams.com/video/nSG5IkRA9BE/video.html
The video for those interested
For those confused on the second point, every single station within a route have specific jingles and when you combine all jingles in that said route, it's basically a short song. Hope this helps.
It’s so funky
Probably my fav track from Casiopea. Very happy you transcribed it!
This is TWO musicians playing. Just two. If you ever needed a demonstration of the harmonic power of keyboard instruments.... (in the right hands, of course!)
Casiopea!!! One of the greatest to ever do it. They’ve got such an amazing discography and all of their songs exude joy and everything music should be. Love that they made it on this channel
The happiest moment in live music history
Love that smile
They look like they just have So much fun together
he looks so happy :D
I did in fact come back to watch that one part 5 times
The most infectious good mood I've ever felt! They are having so much fun, and I'm getting a piece of it :D
Casiopea always goated. This guy on synth Minoru Mukaiya wrote the jingles for all the Japan train stations, absolute legend... next up the bass solo that comes later in this same video
HES SOO HAPPY 😃
this is why i love playing music 😭
I bought the dvd of this in 2001 😮 and to see this part over 20 years later with what looks like more love than ever before is so awesome. I’m off to record some more Casiopea bass covers, might do one of just this section as there is no bass in it haha 😄👊💥
Seriously, my favorite thing about your transcriptions is the written performance notes. "Obscenely spicy" made me almost choke a hit.
Can we give the drummer a serious recognition? It's not easy to play 7 minutes of that intense beat. His accents are on point also.
REAL
Yes - guy is pocket
i love how happy playing music makes people
Swear to god the circle of fifths progression is just so magical.
IT IS THE BEST PROGRESSION EVER
The whole band were absolutely on god damn fire for this concert. I love this and the concert they did in London. Dazzling and Spice Road were lit! 🔥🔥
I LOVE CASIOPEA!!!!
the new Rainbow Road track sounds amazing
“You’ll replay this part five times” 0:30
Damn straight
HELL YEAH! There has been times I've legit repeated that synth solo 20 times in a row because it's so epic.
That smile and joy on face
This video never fails to make me smile so big and wide. The whole band is just so happy to be playing, and such a simple little flair like the spins the bass and guitar make the already very fun music even more enjoyable! I love Casiopea so damn much, and thanks for the transcription!
wow he looks so happy. this is just amazing.
Ahhh yes this is my favorite song from Casiopea! Galatic Funk! But why was my first thought when hearing you play this "it was sped up a little bit..." Still good though. Thanks for transcribing it!
Imho bands tend to play their songs faster in concert situations! the heat!
The pure joy of the pianist is beautiful
That section hits like whisky every time man. Spicy up front, then goes smooth sailing all the way through a golden caramel galaxy
The sheer joy on that man's face is incredible
I love how they all have such huge smiles on their faces the entire time
musicians having fun is the greatest drug
i replayed the progession here so many times, so im happy that this came out.

BROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I WAS NOT EXPECTING THIS CASIOPEA IS FINALLY GETTING SOME LOVE :')

Hell yes! Everyone could use a little more Casiopea in their lives
This is the music that plays when you finish in first place on Gran Turismo and you are watching the replay of you final lap
yes i remember this...hahaha...
I thought T-Square made all the Gran Turismo tracks.
I can't even describe the feeling when he goes up to the CM9
I don't wanna take anything away from this insane chord progression. It's bliss. But can we give it up for Akira Jimbo at the back there just holding it down in the pocket and letting Mukaiya cook?
I've listened to this for over a decade now, loved seeing the title and then the thumbnail as I knew the EXACT moment that was being referred to....
IVE WANETD THIS FOR SO LONG!!!
Quick, call an ambulance! He's got an acute case of tha stank, and it's extremely contagious!
I could never earnestly be into this music or band, but still love the sense of joy and fun they're exuding here.
Thats what we all need more Casiopea!🙏🙏
He's making music for train stations in Japan.
You can hear the music like this whenever you ride train in Tokyo.
This video is like the perfect embodiment of good vibes
now I can finally attempt to play that nasty chord progressions, thanks!
I heard he actually had them in a trance and was projecting his will onto them, thus doing the whole song by himself. The guitarist, bassist and drummer even admit to having no recollection of this part of the show.
^^me when i lie on the internet
Underrated comment 😂
This is so amazingly wholesome!
If I could time travel, id absolutely go to the eighties, go to Japan, and see Cassiopeia in concert.
You could put this over footage of Mario Kart and nobody would be any the wiser.
I love Casiopea! Great video :)
if there's one thing that gets me really into a live performance, its the people on stage having fun and enjoying what they do. casiopea is all smiles all the time
