I've been on a tour at a renowned local winery owned by the same family for genereations, and the current cca 60 year old owner of the winery gave us input on how to properly hold a wine glas. He immediately said holding it by the bowl is a huge error, but continued to say that very few people know that there infact is a *specific* way of holding it by the stem that is correct - and that is to hold the stem at the bottom with your thumb, index and middle finger, while keeping your ring finger and pinky underneath the base of the glass.
should the ring and pinky finger be in the center or the edge of the base?
