So I know this is a video about dogs jumping and all that jazz, but can we talk about the training. I mean, just LOOK at those amazing dogs. Eager to listen to their owners and follow commands, and immediately running back for their rewards. You can tell that despite the noise, their full attention is on their owners and that's just a whole other beauty in itself.
Yea I understand by the way to you have horse's just your picture I love horse's I ride pony's and horse's the horse in the picture is cute please tell me
For people that are worried that the dogs may hurt their joints, you are right. That is very possible and even likely. That being said, many CARING dog owners who let their dogs participate in this sport will feed their dogs food with no byproducts or artificial meat and give their dogs acupuncture, water treadmill therapy and other joint helping activities. On the other side, owners who are all about winning will give their poor dogs drugs and pain mess to keep them going. If you study dog body language and psychology, you can usually tell when a dog is drugged for energy and when a dog is excited and happy to be doing this sport.
Well little miss smarty pants my dog is in k9 high classic jumping and I dont give him meds and drugs to do it all he has to have is his vaccinations and papers to compete and he is a Australian Shepherd and he beat 4 Dobermans in jumping so hush
@@warriorcatsruletheworld7344 Ok, first of all, Julia Crawford was saying that not all owners drug their dogs, so she was not accusing anyone who doesn't. There was no need for you to talk like that to her. I for one am glad to see a comment that isn't just saying that this is abuse, because some dogs actually enjoy this stuff. I don't mean to say either that you are drugging your dog but you need to read carefully before talking rudely to someone like you just did.
My dog can do this when she gets older. She is 10 months old and she can jump 3ft 6in. Her name is Lacie. You can watch her jump on my channel if you want! (:
I love watching other heelers compete. My ACD can't jump that high but you'd be surprised what they can do. The best part is they are so obedient. I don't have to worry about her jumping the fence because we don't need one.
Jacob Butler No, my dog does agility and she jumps it for fun. Our highest is around the 42 mark. I've stopped jumping high because their legs go to shit and i don't wanna cause any more damage
Good video and great to see our Blue Heelers doing so well ........ what would be really good to see, is a bigger and thicker landing mat so the dogs don't miss it and end up landing on the concrete floor and so avoid short and/or long-term injuries.
That first dog never stood a chance being so close. Could barely get a stride in before taking off! The heeler had space to take off from the shep didnt and that is the fault of thw owner, how stupid. Dog could have made it if she took a few steps back and let her dog get some power behind it. I hope she didnt blame her dog for her stupidity.
aprilsitaly Well the dog probably couldn't do the jumps with the same technique as the other other one. Probably would've gotten even lower than it dod
Um the dog wasnt a shepherd it was a collie and it did have a chance, you are just being arrogant, the dog had enough space it just wasnt the height it could clear
@@simplyholological8036 my family breeds Australian Shepherds, and that dog is definitely an Aussie. Like you said run up to the jump doesn't really make a difference when the jump is that high because it's the push off that matters not the forward momentum of the dog . The Aussie was at a huge disadvantage though, a dog without a tail can't balance as well as one with a tail. It's still possible for a dog with a docked tail to jump as high as one with a tail but it is significantly harder.
Horses not only carry a rider but also weigh a lot more, and considering the fact that when they land ALL their weight is transferred onto one leg I wouldn’t say it’s sad it’s actually quite amazing. Then you have to take into account that some horses not only jump this high but do a 12 jump course, a jump off with tight turns and the jumps have width.
I have a heeler mix! Who cant love those feisty sweethearts! They are so loyal and protective of their owners! they create a life long friend ship with their family!
I was watching some horse show jumping videos and I clicked on this and when they said world record I was like how old is this they jump higher than this in the Olympics LOL
I throw kids To the garbage truck Why? These dogs are white capable. I could see a Belgian Malinois as mentioned in the comments being decent, or an actual APBT.
You're all wrong, an Australian Cattle Dog can jump higher than a Malinois on average. Also this cattle dog can jump way higher than average, the bigger dogs aren't necessarily stronger in their jumps.
It is ok as long as they don't do it too much. There are a lot worse things that strain. Letting a dog run on a pavement daily for example. I think as long as they are being gentle during training and have a soft ground to land on the few times the go this high it is ok.
+BrittAndBellamy07 yeah but i also know dogs like them and now they got old and got problems in their legs. sure they have fun because they cant see what will happen with them in the future. bit human do! Dont you think a man wouldnt have health problems when hes older?
most of these dogs are young healthy dogs who enjoy doing this. in fact most of the dogs taking part are of breeds that NEED to take part in this kind of thing BC it keeps them stimulated and happy
My dog that passed away too soon, she used to be able to jump onto the bales out in the hay field and look for any predators and our bales stood about 6 feet tall
My dog can jump double that, easy. Plus he killed two lions and a PETA moron trying to save the lions. My dog also eats the eggs of endangered birds on the Norwegian coast. Aw, Axl Cruise is the best dog ever!
My dog's also an Australian Cattle Dog :D She's 8 months old, 20 inches tall, and jumps 36 inches already! :D Seems these dogs are made for it! Regardless, that dog is INCREDIBLE!

If me and my dog did this:
ME: "Go!!"
DOG: *Runs into the poles*
ME: "Okay I might just stick to agility.."
_09 _Dunbar_ I had an agility potential dog. She ran under the jumps and one time caught the pole.... that was the end of it.

Why not just use biger stronger dogs
I think a lot of bigger dogs are also heavier and therefore cant get the height. Though, I suspect a working malinois might be able to do better.
