My kid is 9 years old, his needs for independence grow for each year and I for one, refuse to buy a phone for him, not now, not in 4 years. The smart watch is therefor a great solution. It shows me where he is at all times, I can contact him and vice versa and that’s about it. Games, schmames…. I just need to know my kid is okay and that he can safely contact me at any time when he’s out with his friends. But at that price? That’s crazy, we’re an apple family and the Watch SE makes a helluva more sense to me.
@@jeremy8250 Let me guess, you are American and has never used anything but apple watches. Beside apple there are other manufacturers of fitness focused wearables one of them being Fitbit. Garmin is another example. Samsung and Google makes watches and fitness trackers for non-apple devices which run an operating system called android, made by Google which I'm sure you've heard of. It's the search engine that powers your safari search. Oh and btw Google owns Fitbit.
I would love to see a nonSIM version with android "find my device" tracking built in like a chippolo

I got my kid a cheap mi watch from alie Express because he wanted the step tracker and a digital watch. 34 bucks.
They don't, but it's a cheaper and healthier alternative for those kids who somehow get Pro Max iPhones at a tiny age.

You can change the watch face in the settings! A great way to encourage learning how to read analog 😊😊
