- Virgin Atlantic has taken delivery of the first of 12 A350-1000s at Airbus Delivery Centre in Toulouse.
Named ‘Red Velvet’, the aircraft will be deployed from London airports on trans-Atlantic routes. The first commercial service will be from London Heathrow to New York’s JFK airport.

It is the first! It was delivered on the 9th of August 2019, their second A35K, Mamma Mia, was delivered around 3 weeks later. The Red Velvet is Virgin‘s first A350

Depends how you define advanced really. They are probably about the same but the A350 has much better performance.
A350 is new and has more features in the cockpit than Boeing but 787 is a more electric aircraft

The economics from the A350 against the A346 will be so good, senior management at VS will end up slapping each other for not booking earlier slots on the A351 deliveries. That said, congratulations to all the stakeholders for believing and delivering an aircraft that on paper seemed so good to be true but it has supparsed Airbus's promised economics and Rolls Royce promised SFC (Specific Fuel Consumption). All rise for the Red Velvet (Lima Uniform X-ray)
