I have been driving every generation of MDX since it first came out. One of the reasons was safety. I crash my first 2001 MDX in 2002. The car rollover 2 times completely smash up and I walk out of that wreckage with a 1-inch scratch on my forehead. 😁
Glad you walked away. if you haven't been in other vehicles and crashed how would you know they are not as safe.
@@Flying-Fox19 he wouldnt be here telling his story
How tf did that happen?????
That's why I bought an MDX for my wife yesterday. I didn't feel safe with her driving her jeep.
“Crashed”
“Rolled Over”!!!!!
We absolutely love our MDX!!! I am coming from owning BMWs and Audis, but decided now for something that will be reliable for the years to come.
Yeah well the Germans are great and being ridiculous with over engineering they stuff and making the customer pay for it
I love y'alls videos; super informative and I love that you don't rush on showing anything or talk too fast but I have one request -- when you show trunk space and explain spare tire storage, can you please make sure to specify if it's donut or full sized. Thanks!
I have a 2022 same color with black interior and I love it. It’s a beautiful amazing driving suv. Great video
One of the most fun cars I’ve driven. I’m not crazy about the interior setup but it’s not awful
I’ve had my 2022 MDX A-Spec since November and couldn’t be happier with it. Probably the best car I’ve ever owned. You guys should have demonstrated Sport Mode - so much fun.
Great review though guys. I’m glad you like the car as much as I do!
What mpg are you averaging?
@@Pens4Life85 I've had mine for about a month now. I love it. Wish I was still getting the mpg of my TLX, but this things much bigger, obviously. I got paint protection on the whole friend end and tinted the front two windows. Great daily driver.
@@Pens4Life85 I paid MSRP, but I'm doing lease to own so my monthly payment is pretty low. I got 10k over what I owed for my tlx. It's a pretty good deal for me. Honestly, there's really nothing more I would ever need. I just got the base with AWD, because all the stuff I care about comes standard. I really can't think of anything else I'd want except maybe a little better gas mileage. I'm averaging 19-20 split 50/50 mix. I absolutely love this car though. My wife has the previous gen and this one is light-years beyond. The 10 speed auto is way better. My only annoying criticism is the use of piano black and carpet on the sills instead of plastic. My kids always step on the carpet which drives me nuts. Overall, love it though. Base model is a great deal. You're really just paying for fluff on the other trims in my opinion.
@@Pens4Life85 I would have loved the type s, but literally doubling my payment for not much more performance imo. I drove the type s and rode it hard and honestly couldn't tell a huge difference from the 3.5. It obviously has more power, but not 20 grand worth. The base 3.5 hauls ass pretty good for what it is.
I just sat in this car for an Uber and wow I am amazed by the quietness, ride, and interior quality! So good for the money
Am I the only one that can’t wait for the coupons and sound decibel reading 😊
Keep up the awesome job!
We just bought the mdx aspec , we thank you for such a great review!!!🎄🎄🎄
I drive a RDX and MDX a few years ago and you wouldn't think it was a SUV, the seats cradle your body like a race car seat and the turns is like a 1976 Fiat X19 and a Mazda MX5, this is a masterpiece!!!!!!
I love this car already nice job 👏
My everyday Aruca SUV!! Nice review bro.
Thank you for the great presentation. Loving the quality of your video.
Thanks for watching!
Fantastic these guys are....I love the measuring the sound level in the car. Thanks!
Thank you!
Hi Car Confections That Acura Quality Appearance That There Make Some Good Car
Excellent review and happy weekend!
Happy weekend to you too!
ACURA mdx has the best third row among its rivals. I wish the plug in hybrid version will come out soon.
Great review guys. Maybe do the decibel test at 65 and 75 as well?
Enjoyed!!
Great review, thank you
I love the 2023 Acura MDX it’s very nice! I love the red and black interior!! I enjoyed the bloopers 😂😂😂😂😂
This won my heart ❤️
im from vancouver, bc.. my ‘22 a-spec mdx has more feature than US market, heated steering wheel, walk away auto, remote engine start (intergrated button on keyfob) to name a few😊
My loved ur review , that convinced her to go buy the A spec… version for Xmas 🎄
Love my 2018 mdx, thanks Gents!!
@steve Austin me too!! My first Acura purchase & I’m hooked!! This will be the only car I purchase when I upgrade.
I have not liked many Acuras in the past but this one really nails it. The size, the styling, quality and it has an awesome interior with a light color option. Along with ventilated seats. The only thing I would like to see is a Plug in version.
Great review!!
I love my 22 phantom violet pearl advanced model MDX. It basically drives itself on the highway, has so many sick features, and is an overall gorgeous car. You’ll never have to take your eyes off the road. I was thinking about switching to a Tesla model Y but I’m glad I stuck with Acura!
Thanks! That is a great color!
I see someone in dealership brought Tesla model x 2022 trade for Lexus crazy lol never buy Tesla!
That 's right , it's a Honda , the best Japanese car maker !! And don't forget the gorgeous NSX !!
That model and spec is absolutely gorgeous man
Can you pls talk about the windows and windshield whether they are laminated( acoustic ) or not?
I had a 2011 Acura MDX, very comfortable seats, peppy, unfortunately it did not hold up as my previous Honda CRV. I replaced the two side mirrors actuators, power steering rack, 2 water pumps, right front wheel bearing, hood stays. In the 8 years of ownership I spent $10,744 in maintenance with 103K miles. Traded it in for a 2020 Toyota Highlander. So far with 28K miles no out of pocket expenses, nothing has gone wrong with the Toyota. Time will tell if it holds up as I keep my cars about 8 years or 100k. Would I go back to a Acura, not likely.
Mine has been perfectly reliable over 27,000 miles. The removable middle seat is also great and the ELS sound system is excellent. It also handles like a much smaller car. The OEM tires are too noisy in my opinion and they do overdo it with the piano black but it has handled family duty really well and is more practical than the competition. Love that they use a regular V6 for reliability. May not have great low-end torque but it is very smooth and sounds really nice. Gas mileage isn't great. I average about 19 but rarely go on the highway. On the highway I usually beat the 25mpg estimate.
Every car is perfectly reliable with 27000 miles
27 thousand still like new 😅
Would love to get one of these when the lease on my ‘20 is up. Hopefully the market stabilizes by then. I’d take it in Apex blue.
Agreed. Leasing seems to be the only reason I'd consider one2.
Inventory won’t ever get back to “normal” but will start to stabilize. I’m an Acura enthusiast and I just got a 22 RDX ASPEC Advance in Apex blue with orchid leather and I love it. The MDX felt a little big this time.
I love this cute beast ❤️
Those dark Shark Grey wheels is what they should have used on the MDX Type S! I think they would look better than the machine and black wheels that come on the MDX Type S now.
My 2010 Honda Pilot has air vents on the 3rd row seats!
Great remote. I bought my 2023 A spec mdx before this review was available. Now as you mentioned it would have been nice to have a spec advanced. I do want to have a 360 camera available. With that said is it still possible to have? What are your thoughts on getting off market?
Hey guys. As always great review and details. I noticed in this review your sound level reading was around 53 db whereas in two other MDX reviews you were getting sound levels around 58 and 59. I know at least one of those was the Advance Trim which should have add the acoustic glass. To what do you attribute the sizable drop? Did they make changes for the 2023 model year to add sound deadening?
Thanks! That might have something to do with it. Also, there could be some differences in road quality and wind on one day vs another
I just recently bought my 2024 tech spec and I’m loving it after I test drove couple of cars like
Toyota Highlander
Toyota Grand Highlander
4 cylinder inline turbo charge noisy engines along with Lexus TX350
Kia Teluride
Hyundai Palaside
After I drove Acura MDX I decided to buy one of these with better pricing then all and great APR rate
Just picked up a 23 ASpec this past weekend in liquid carbon metallic. Really enjoy it so far! 👍
Congrats on your new MDX!
@@CarConfections thank you! Traded up from a 2020. Didn’t realize how dates that one had become until taking this one home. Thanks for all the work you both do bringing us detailed reviews on all the new models.
@@mat13174 thanks for the kind words! Happy holidays!
@@CarConfections thank you, and same to you both. Hope you can fit in a little time off
I love the Acura brand they have the best vehicles they are luxurious well equipped and their design is excellent. Love Drew
Roof Rails are standard on the
a-spec. but can be dealer installed on any model.
It's a nice and neat 👀 looking luxury built on wheel's listed as Acura MDX for person's to choose to buy to enjoy and or benefit by traveling for their fun's and or excitements and or wants and needs for comfort.
Just bought the bright blue of this exact car. Video says the AcuraLink comes w it for 3 years? I’d like to know where/how? Our sales rep said it’s $110/year n that’s what I’m seeing in the app. Where do you get the free 3 years mentioned in the video?
This review got me sold on this car. Hope I made a good decision.
Did they fix the wireless charging issue with iPhones? Got a 22 aspec haven’t worked since day one..
GREAT review!
Thanks!
I love the MDX
Great review thank you
Glad it was helpful!
With the 3rd row down, is a cargo cover provided?
It is interesting to see how the Acura MDX’s price stacks up against the Audi Q7, Genesis GV80, BMW X5, Lexus RX350, Mercedes GLE350, Infiniti QX60, Honda Pilot Elite, and Toyota Highlander Platinum.
Pilot and Highlander are not in the same category as the rest.
@@_jg00 Exactly, they are just throwing a bunch of brands out there that have SUV options.
What are you talking about lol. Toyota and Honda?
Let’s be honest if it wasn’t for the brand name the palisade would destroy all of these with ease .. only thing it’s lacking is performance and a good badge
@@Luisestrada1992 I am being honest. The Palasaides can’t hold the Acuras jock strap. The base model MDX has the amenities of the top of the line model and yes the performance and reliability are most important and the MDX is better in those regards. The palisades isn’t a luxury vehicle period.
Great detailed review
Thanks!
I love my 2016 RDX. It has 115000 km. The new 2023 is good for a 4cy it drives well, it's fun and all. But when you get in a Lexus 350 RX F sport 3 2021 for the same price, it's another level.
Acura has to decide, between getting caught up by Mazda or upping its game and joining Lexus.
Not to mention Genesis gv70 that kicks major ass and that the first 2022 and 2021 appear on the used car market.
I completely agree that Acura should offer advance features on the aspec. I didn’t like all the chrome trim that’s on the advance model thus making me choose the Aspec model but I wish I had the heads up display, 360 camera and the walk away feature.
Agree and remote start should be an option on all trim levels
If I wasn't looking for a Hybrid SUV, I'd be considering this Acura but with gas prices I'm limited to Hybrids only which is a shame. At least Acura is stepping up their game in this very competitive field.
How are prices in your state? Down almost $2 in Illinois to right under $4
@@leroy5202 I'm in CA and it's around $5.
The reported EPA gas mileage is terrible for a vehicle in 2023. 🤦🏻♂️ it is not difficult to get a solid 30mpg highway for a vehicle this size. Taking into account that it has a 10 speed transmission, I’m surprised by the weak gas mileage. 😔😖
It’s a shame, because it would be a top contender if it got AT LEAST 30mpg
I'm in the same boat with you so I'm looking at the Mazda cx90 phev ...
Love it really. But won't consider to buy until it replaced the center screen as a touch screen...
The need a touch instead of that pads and better gas milage and this car will be best in class, I got 2022 A spec we love it
Does your wireless charger work always?
Thanks!
I wish they put a touch screen
I sell a bunch of Acura MDX’S and especially the Aspec models. Can’t wait until we have an electric option. It’s going to go off from there most definitely!!
Don’t hold your breath. Acura would be much better off making hybrid. That is what everyone wants. EV and hybrid plugins aren’t selling. Trust me I work in the biz.
@@rich1958 i agree. I actually disagree with my own statement now haha. They messed up on this zdx… should be hybrid
Touch screen like smh they need to fix that issue 😢
Very nice! Why do most all manufacturers put the rear wiper on the bottom? It’d look so much better tucked away on the top. No touch screen, that’s not good 😞
It’s cheaper
When I back up l don’t hear a beeping sound why
I love this SUV. But it is NONSENSE that Acura doesn't have heated steering wheel on the A-Spec trim.
Best luxury SUV of the segment
I absolutely love my 2016 tech MDX, I refuse to upgrade until they decide to get rid of that wonky touch pad 😵💫
How's the 3rd row on your model?
@@djtgrindreat for kids 12 and under.teens will have a problem as well as adults
@@SFAvgeek gotcha. Thanks for response
Hey guys! u forgot to discuss the different driving modes! have u tried the sport mode?
Replace the infotainment interface and provide a hybrid option and sales would double.
Does anybody know what’s good to cleanse the seats on this Acura? It’s not leather i think
I think this MDX and the new pilot are very good Japanese SUV’s in 2023
Very nice car
This looks way better than my x7
I need 3 of those to buy ok
like it , looks performance .nice if there was a mid size 2 row for us who have no need or want a 3rd row
The rdx
drop the third row seats down flat and forget about it?
I really do not like the push buttons for gear changing 😒
wow a 3 row electric crossover Acura I don't think I have seen such in Honda/Acura but anyway great review and how do you stars keep getting your hands on up to date vehicles I'll love to know please
Thank you! We just pay very very close attention to manufacturer and dealer websites so we are ready for them
I really wanted this car but I got the Volkswagen Atlas and it’s way more spacious.
The red interior is brutal..
Any word on the RDX ?? In need of a new car my civic is dying on me lol.
The Kia Rio in Canada has a standard heating steering wheel, can’t believe Acura still requires you get the advance.
Canadian models get heated steering wheel and remote start on all trims
All of Canada gets very cold while only parts of the US do. It’s doesn’t make as much sense to make it standard in the states
@@whosurdaddy2720 well I feel this way since I’m in that cold part!! 😆
You can buy the wheel and install it.
Good presentation
Thank you!
Is the rdx has the same engine as mdx?
The track pad infotainment is a deal breaker
Dear Acura,
It would be in your extreme best interest to creat a full size 3rd row suv. Every other brand is offering such vehicle one way or another. Consider it!!
Lol
Does it have auto breaking … lane keeping??
This Acura looks so much better than the Infiniti QX60.
I want this car so bad
what i didn't like about this one , is the over-sensitive touch control . it really makes you nervous .
Thai SUV is very nice. I love the exterior! But yes I totally agree with u guys with the air ball. For 61k i’d expect heated seats and a 360 camera to be standard. I mean the 23 palisade calligraphy embarrasses majority of the luxury competition. I think for the 23 Acura did have the opportunity to add those features. That would complete eveything because this is my at rite trim level in the lineup. Hopefully by 2024 or 2025 they would add them.
You get heated and ventilated seats with this mdx. Just no 360 camera
@@Symbiote-hq6pn I’m talkin bout the backseat
360 is on the Type S
The palisade is not a luxury vehicle, it’s a Hyundai. Obviously you will get more for your money. You’re comparing a car from a different segment.
Did you really just compare an Acura to a Hyundai? Dude, are you lost?
I only saw 1 usb c port rest are old even the new CR-V has more.
I am in process of getting the 2023 Acura MDX and I have one question, does the Technology package comes with a remote engine start?
It does not have it on the key fob
Remote start is only in Advance package.
I just have a remote starter Compustar installed by Best buy for $199 in my 2022 MDX Tech. It has the range 3000 feet. I can start the car with its fob or the car key fob (but the range is limited). With subscription droneMobile, I can start, track, secure the car anywhere and more.
@@namsdang1827 do you know if Acura has the option to add remote start after the fact from the dealer? I didn’t ask when I went to there the other day.
is there any way to find out what minor tweaks they will make for 2024 ? s advanced ?
They haven't said yet but stay tuned to the channel for a 2024 review as soon as possible!
Acura sure likes to hold remote start hostage for some reason. 🙄
Also Nike shoes with Adidas shirt? Come on Drew! Hehe kidding aside this MDX is looking sick in black tho.
All we have left is is the very base trim level. You guys reviewed the technology, this a-spec, advanced and the type S. So Thai base is the only one left lol.
Oh yeah that's true haha
Great demo! Does it come with wireless charging?
Thanks! Yes, it does
It's weird that it has heat and cooling seats but no heated steering wheel 😑
I like all in MDX except no touch screen , they might have given both touch pad and touch screen.
Hope Acura can get rid of the aggressive font logo, and I will 100% go for the model (instead of X5, GLE, RX, GX, ...)
Not having touch screen in 2023 is just ridiculous
Thank God, I will buy one for myself
I love acura's vehicles I just don't understand why they don't come with remote start so many other Japanese and American brands remote start for the same amount of price of these vehicles and less
