they sell the replacement screen on ebay in US now and its easy and no need to remove radio from car. I just did it.. took 6 minutes but the part was 43 USD looks new... You know mercedes didnt think this through much if we are left figuring out how to fix a problem almost no radio has except these lol
@@AutoMotohowto46 yes that is surely an option! :) I looked into that but noticed the place here in Florida is about 30 miles from here so it was here in a couple days and I was working anyway so for me was a no brainer plus I just finished removed entire back seat and rear window regulator so I was due an easy fix! lol
I was a little afraid it was just an old ebay add because i didnt see much about it on the forums for MB and everyone having issues so few days ago i thought id chance it and take one for the team but turns out it was good! im pretty happy! maybe in the future I will upgrade to an aftermarket head unit to modernize everything but as long as this is all working im not in a rush
@@dparham I was also thinking of changing it with something modern, but I said let's try this option, although if I bought a new window, I wouldn't have to dismantle everything, but just pull it and that's it..., I do these things for pleasure , hobby not necessarily to get rid of the problem quickly.
