    This is the best angle for the camera I've ever seen in chess. I can ACTUALLY follow and even calculate what's going on and it's 100% the camera angle tilted almost at the corner but not quite toward black..... It's perfect! Should also work on white side too!

      @@Scaw It's probably the internal fan of the camera. If u tape something with the built-in mic of the camera, it's gonna generate a lot of noise.

    Didnt know Wang before, so I thought he stands no chance and jumped to min 42 where I see Carlsen is down a pawn and threatened by a past pawn. Well played Wang

    The winning moment for Wang Hao was at this video time: 38:43 after Carlsen move his Queen to D5, Wang Hao can take the white pawn At C4 With His Rook at C8. After that, the Black Queen and Black Rook can guard Wang pawns at A5 and B6 to become Queen

      Continuation is White Rd8+ .Kh2 is the only move for black which is followed by White Qxf5+ and the only defense is g6 for black followed by Qd7 check mate
      It's a forced mate in 3

    At around 42:22 I thought Wang was going to move the pawn in E4 up to E3 Setting up for Black rook to F2 taking Whites pawn (Check). Would that have been a stronger move than the rook to A2 from Wang?

      (prestan atention) cuando el juego acaba, si es empate - entonces los reys se positionan en las casillas correspondentes (negro para negro y blanco para blanco),
      en el caso que los negros ganan (por ejemplo) - los dos reyes positionan (en el medio de la mesa) en las casillas negras,
      en el caso que los blancos ganen - los reyes se positionan (en el medio de la mesa) en las casillas blancas,

    I calculate at around 35:07 Magnus to play Qe7 to be followed by Rd7. How could this threat be parried? Am I missing something?

    I don't know why people here says Hao offered the draw? it is clearly Magnus offered the draw because he sees there is no other moves to advance the game. Hao did not have 2 passing pawns. because the one of the pawn is cannot be protected and the other pawn cannot advance

      You resign when you know you will lose. When you're down material/in a losing position, you will still have a chance to turn the game into your favor by waiting for blunder/mistake moves from your opponent. But in a GM level, the chance for a blunder is very little-to-none, so when they're in losing positions, they'll resign immediately because they know that the chance for their opponents to blunder is small (though it is not always the case, there are many games where the losing side still continues the game)

    Actually Carlsen shouldnt have disregarded the move Qc6 which was an obvious comprimise by move Qxa4. I sometimes dont understand why GMs play so awfully . But it was wonderful to see Magnus levelled the game . There are lots of teachings for an amateur in this game . I watched it with great enjoyment

    At 30:00 why did Wang not play Qxf2+ (I thought that was the point of Qc5! the move before)? It breaks the pawn cover of white's king, I don't see how black could be in danger after that.

    thanks for posting the game. Question anyone- why at 13:00 after black played Nxd4 and Carlsen took back with the Rxd4, but instead of taking the Nxd4 couldn't have Hao taken the Nxe5 followed by Qxe5 and winning a pawn on e5?? anyone.

      I believe the board they isually use is DGT (Digital Game Technology) board. You can search DGT walnut, rosewood, or wenge chess set or something among those lines as it resembles the chess set in the video

      Agreed -- push the black pawn forward and gain a square but would not of been able to gain a queen (white king would have blocked). He wanted that backup pawn protected and therefore covered it with his rook.

    What is the function of the cable plugged in the chess board? Why do the player so sometimes get additional time when tapping the button?

      the cable maybe to record moves and send it to a website server .
      the additional time .. this is called Fischer time control

    42:20 doesnt Hao have Magnus, what am I missing? Take pawn to E3? I believe. Sorry I'm still pretty new to chess so learning this stuff. He can't take because of check, can't move to block either, and Hao can take pawn with rook, check Magnus then walk in pawn, correct? It's at least a pawn swap with improved position?

    @41:45 Why didn't he advance the pawn from A4 to A3 next obvious move from magnus is rook to A8 then its rook to C3 pawn to E3 forcing a trade or taking some of the defence away from the King...
    Thats what I would of played...but then in not a GM...😄
