I did legally blonde last year! That show is a beast of a show. I was an ensemble member but I was in every scene because I was EVERY type of ensemble. That was a tuffy

I’m a techie for newsies for 13 hour long days working non stop. The thing is our director has only provided one meal all week instead of every day 2 times a day like she said she would. She ends rehearsals late so we actually regularly leave at 11:30 instead of 9:30 so our 13 hour rehearsal is really 15 hours at least with maybe a few bags of chips and a pack of fruit snacks for food

Ah weird coincidence but my school is doing Legally Blonde and we don't have an official tech week they just do that the week of the show. So had to come in school on a Saturday but I'm so happy still as I'm playing Elle ahhh! Love your videos btw xx

Waffle House: the classic Atlanta high schooler late night hang out spot
after opening night for every show at my school, the whole cast goes to waffle house and ive never seen a waitress as terrified as when a group of 25 theatre kids walk in at midnight to get waffles and sing showtunes all night
“the grind doesn’t stop until tickets are sold” that’s what me and all of my friends say when we are in a show together
There's always that one restaurant ALL theater kids go after performing the show the second night. My school is chili's i feel so bad for those waiters everytime...

The town I used to live in my three first years ok hs did not have any performing arts hs or programs anywhere near me, then I moved and my last year of hs I was finally in a theater program 😩🙌🏼🙌🏼 and I remember those rehearsals until 10pm or 12am and I honestly loved them sm

at my school we do this thing called “ Lock in” the week before tech week and we stay at school until midnight, we get out of school go to rehearsal and stay till midnight, it’s really fun tbh

i have felt this last year we literally were still doing choreography for dances during tech week so we were there till 12am -2am
when I did Legally we were double casted and I was Enid Hoops in one of the casts and my cast didn't get a full run through till opening either, luckily our Elle wasn't double casted so she had had a run through

we have tech week from 9-10 for two weeks. then, its show week! 9-11 every day till our 3 weekend shows. then, we repeat that show week for our 2nd show weekend. so fun!!!!

i go to a public arts hs. for musical tech week we have all day pullouts so tech runs start at like 8 am and still go to 10 pm and then crew has to stay later while cast goes home.

wish we had a tech week...my stage tech is lucky if the director even gives us a full day to have our time with the cast. last year, we had 1 day to tinker with the tech for Mary Poppins, a whole ass 3 hours show and we had a day to get the tech right...everyone loved the show but it was absolute hell for the stage tech and we all had at least 3 breakdowns ever hour 🤪

I love that school got cancelled for snow but it didn’t even snow. In utah we got our first snow day in the past 14 years just three weeks ago cause it snowed literally 14 Inches over night

When tech week arrives at my school. My drama teacher doesn’t except any bullshit. It’s scary. We like to call it hell week.
At my school during tech the Saturday before starts it and cast goes 9am-9pm, Sunday is 11-9, the week is typically 4-10:30 and notes till 10:45/11, home around 11:30

how do y’all school have no regulations for how long they keep students?? In NYC as soon as the security guards leave the students have to leave as well. And to even stay for tech week and saturdays in my school we have to ask for permission.

Last year, I was in the little mermaid. During tech week we were there until 11:30 PM every night and I had to get up at 4:30 every morning to babysit for our neighbor. School in between and homework after rehearsal...... yeah that was pretty bad.
When we dry ran a show, I do tech, last year w/o cast, the rehearsal we had planned to do it was canceled. So after the regular rehearsal, all tech stayed behind for 6 hours after cast left, (Cast left at around 8pm). Supposed to stay until midnight but, everyone was exhausted and so it was extra slow. It had been 19-20 I had been in my school. At least it was a Friday and didn't have to go to school the next day.
