I followed this recipe through it's really good but if you don't plan on pairing it with vanilla ice cream I say add a whole cup of sugar instead so it's not too tart

It almost completely depends on the blueberries used! Make sure to try a good handful, like 5-10 blueberries out of the batch you buy. If they are tart, use more sugar. If they are super ripe and sweet, use less.

I love picking up the little tricks like cutting the butter on the wrapper and using it to transfer it over instead of making a big mess trying to scoop it up!

I made the pie crust from your video. I thought it was going to be a disaster -- all dry and crumbly. It came out PERFECT. I used it to make mini chicken pot pies with top crust and put them in the freezer. I then made blueberry and cherry hand pies. Some of those made it to the freezer. But I also had to pair some of them with vanilla ice cream. Yum. Thanks for the pie dough recipe. I have NEVER made a decent pie crust before. After your video, I've made it like 10 times so far. So much fun and really good. Thanks.

I love this recipe. It is very similar to a blueberry crisp that I have made. I noticed that you did not blind bake the crust, but the ceramic pie plate seemed to have worked out really well in keeping it from getting soggy. Do you ever find it necessary to blind bake pie crusts?

First of all I wanted to say that I tried the recipe and it tastes fantastic thank you so much. One small issue with mine however was that the edges kind of burned while I was waiting for the middle to turn golden. Any tips?
So glad you enjoyed it! You can try to rotate the pie. To promote even browning, rotate the pie halfway through the baking process.
I am nit a fan of foil but you can add foil to the crust area and then remove it part way through to slow down the cooking process on the crust. Never tried it but I have seen it done.

Made this for the first time with fresh blueberries I picked a few days before w my mom. It was a hit and nothing was leftover afterwards. My mom even said it was the best pie she's ever had haha. Just used Pilsbury double pie crust from the frozen section in a pinch. Literally made this in 2 hours right before heading over for Father's day. May have accidentally skewed the portions to 5 cups blueberries w everything else still the same (except more like 3/4+ cup of sugar) since the crusts I bought could only fit that many blueberries. Also added a tiny dash of salt as well as dotting the tops of the berries w a few micro thin butter slices per a suggestion. As well as a heavy eggwash. It may have overflowed a bit in the oven from the flour and berries, but the cookie sheet caught it, and it settled back nicely into place after taking it out. I have 2 gallons of blueberries I need to do something with and this is so fun and straightforward, I'm defintely making a few more pies haha. May tweak things and add some new flavor profiles with it to experiment. But thank you for the great video! It was definitely a hit!

This seems like a perfect recipe. Also a quick question. Can I straightaway use ready made canned blueberry fruit filling instead of fresh ones? Should I do any modifications in the pie crust cooking?
We prefer fresh but frozen will work too
