      He just says what's taught without actually evaluating everyone's personal situation. Like the guy with a payed off house and no kids. Why on earth would he need life insurance?

    Not a fan of the rhetoric from 1:06:56 to 1:07:46. Men shouldn't treat women well because they are someone's daughter. Men should treat women well because as human beings they are worthy of dignity and respect. We need to change the language that portrays women only in relation to men. I agree with the concept of treating others well. Let's make sure the why is fully recognizing of the other's humanity not just their relationships.

      I was looking to see if someone else thought the same thing. I get he has good intentions when he says it but women shouldn't be treated well because they have father's, they should be treated well because they are people

      @kristihedtke598 Před 3 lety +8

      Katherine, the view you displayed in your comment in a sense "victimizes" women. Women are far more than victims. DR and AO are men talking to a man. They simply are trying to help Tyler see things from a real man's perspective. A real man cares for his daughter in ways more deeply than even he can understand. Typically a man will love his daughter more than a random women on the street. Is that wrong? No. Does it mean he will not help her if she is in need? Nope. That's just the way it is. The love of a parent runs DEEP. Ramsey in a sense is asking Tyler to love Kelly MORE deeply. Ramsey is calling Tyler to lay a financial foundation for her. This has nothing to do with the idea that only daughters matter to man. Ramsey is simply offering the "daughter analogy" to show Tyler how Kelly's father might feel and give Tyler insight. This is not about portraying women only in relation to men. This is about Ramsey getting eye to eye, man to man, with Tyler.
      Perspective. Context. These are beautiful things.

    • @kaylee1772
      @kaylee1772 Před 3 lety

      @@kristihedtke598 but it does portray women in relation only to men. When a woman is abusive to a man we don't tell her "thats somebodies son". Whats wrong with Ramsey saying don't mistreat woman because they are human beings?

    • @kristihedtke598
      @kristihedtke598 Před 3 lety +6

      Note Ramsey also portrays women in relation to women when he asks Kelly what she would advise her daughter to do. Therefore, he actually does not portray women ONLY in relation to men.
      Dave Ramsey is somebody's son. Give the poor guy a break. 😉

      @Novelty Robot - It was to just to be able to get rid of an upside down vehicle. Then that loan was to be paid off quickly. NOT to add to you debt snowball, but to help diminish your debt.

    This call with Christina for taking of her parents was a big one. Not sure what is gonna happen with my wife's parents but from my understanding, they did some dumb stuff in the past (I think a massive Heloc) and have tons left to go. Also, they only live on one income currently so I'm not sure how they can pay it off and retire very well. I'm not saying that they can't or will need support but if so, that will be a tough battle discuss with my wife and potentially with my own heart. Seeing how they currently live and treat us and our son, it makes easier though. Not good spending. Anyway, its important to not sacrifice your family and future just because they did. Offer a helping hand but only so long.

      Thank You!! I hate when they tell people they have too much emergency fund. I think its a little unnatural to keep exactly 6 months of expenses at all times and not a dollar more. I dont see anything wrong with steadily adding to your emergency fund if you have no debt.

      @@sbeasley7100 exactly. It’s all about comfort. As long as your following the investment percentages you’re good. Personally I won’t have more than 20k in mine but that’s way more than my “6 months expenses”. Have upwards of 10k let’s you tackle extreme emergencies and not have to call the show lol.

    How do you cancel a credit card that has an annual fee 😐 I called the credit company to cancel after paying off the account and they told me I owed $99 annual fee. 😳 I found this a little disturbing after paying off the account. Is this something I should have expected to occur? How do I handle the situation?

    • @intuitive_duck
      @intuitive_duck Před 3 lety +3

      If you called them to cancel the account they shouldn't have charged you anything else that I know of. You could dispute that at the bank. Are the annual fees paid at the end or beginning of the year? Maybe you used it in that year.
