How did you guys come about conclusively that every group that speaks a dialect similar to yours and is not referred to as igbo has lost its identity. We all went to school and we know of hundreds of groups round the world some in groups of 3 to 5 or more speaking very similar dialects and bearing same or similar names yet with different identities. Go to south africa or do a research ask the xhosa how many other groups speak a similar dialect yet with a different identity. Question two if you approach someone or a group speaking something similar to yours and he or she tells you he is not igbo , how or why do you insist on asserting that such groups are igbos or the dialect is igbo. Making such assertions is supremacist and it is what leads to expansionist mindsets; when you no longer see groups as lateral equals. Simply understanding that your parents moved outside their father land or territory to form mixed lineages with other aboriginals in non igbo territories should correct this mindset but unfortunately members of your group have taken to social media propaganda to create a narrative same way they used propaganda to equate Biafra with igbo. So where are the Ijaws, efiks ibibios that used to be part of Biafra? False propaganda cannot change who a people are thats a lesson many of you igbos will eventually learn.

When the shape is clear, a referendum would give each group a chance to make a clear reasonable choice to belong or not to belong. 4 groups came together by agreement, to form the republic of South Africa. But Nigeria was forced together by Britain for administrative convenience. So what are we saying? The Igbos are proud and confident. We don't just say it - we show it. Therefore, we're not begging anyone to come with us.
