ಭಾರತ ಕಂಡ ಹೆಸರಾಂತ ಕಾದಂಬರಿಕಾರರಲ್ಲಿ ಅಗ್ರಶ್ರೇಣಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವವರು ಶ್ರೀ ಎಸ್. ಎಲ್‌. ಭೈರಪ್ಪನವರು. ೧೯೩೧ರಲ್ಲಿ ಜನಿಸಿದ ಇವರು ಭಾರತದ ಮೊದಲ ಪ್ರಧಾನಿಯಿಂದ ಈಗಿನ ಪ್ರಧಾನಿಯವರೆಗು ಎಲ್ಲರನ್ನೂ ನೋಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಸ್ವತಂತ್ರ ಭಾರತವನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ, ಜೀವಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ‌. ಅವರ ನೇರ ಮಾತು, ದಿಟ್ಟತನ, ಧೈರ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಅವರ ಕಾದಂಬರಿಗಳೇ‌ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ.
೨೦೧೨ರ ತನಕ ಯಾವುದೇ ರಾಜಕೀಯ ಪಕ್ಷಗಳ ಬಗೆಗೆ ಅಥವಾ ರಾಜಕಾರಣಿಯ ಬಗೆಗೆ ಬೆಂಬಲಿಸಿ ಮಾತನಾಡದ ಇವರು ಪ್ರಥಮ ಬಾರಿಗೆ ಶ್ರೀ ನರೇಂದ್ರ ಮೋದಿಯವರ ಬಗೆಗೆ ಮೆಚ್ಚುಗೆಯ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಆಡಿದರು.
ಬ್ರಿಟಿಷರಿಂದ ಮೊದಲ್ಗೊಂಡು ಈಗಿನವರೆಗಿನ ಭಾರತದ ಕಥೆಯನ್ನು, ಅದರ ಪ್ರಜೆಗಳು ಪಟ್ಟ ವ್ಯಥೆಯನ್ನು ಅವರಿಂದಲೇ ಕೇಳೋಣ.
