I've been operating for 20 years , you have to teach them , nobody is born knowing . The biggest thing is getting over the fear.
Kinda true, but at the same time some people will never quite get it down. Either they lack the hand eye coordination, or just lack the IQ to figure out how to do those things.
At some point someone figured the shit out on their own and didn't need to be taught by anyone how to do it.
@@colecampbell1906They "didn't need to be taught" because that person you're referring to invented and designed the excavator. Everyone else after them was taught, EVERYONE. And how did that inventor design the excavator? They gained the knowledge to design a vehicle for a specific need: they learned.
Someone had to invent the technique first before anyone could be taught. There are the people who do things first. It's important to teach critical thinking so that more people can be leaders and not followers.
@@TheMoonman4 dude you're full of shit, the person that invented it was not the first one to figure out how to do tricks like picking up a dime with the forks lol.

I operated one at an old job, and I saw some crazy shit done by the senior operators, but never heard or saw anything like that. I'm intrigued, how do you do it? Is it anything like the trick in this video?
I'm a forklift operator and worldn't even attempt that lol.
@@RiggedDynamo its pretty simple, just lower a fork so the tip of it is touching the edge of the coin and then reverse just a lil bit. the coin will flip up onto the fork. stage two from here is placing the coin on top of something like a soda can or for the real challenge on top of a water bottle.
I drive a forklift a decent amount at my job and I wouldn't even attempt that.
Over the years I’ve had to have horses buried, had to hire a fork lift operator for the job. These operators showed much compassion & understanding about our loss of a beloved animal, which had been a part of my life for many years. I’m amazed at how gentle they were in handling the deceased horse, placing gently into their final resting place. Knowing the animal is at peace, was treated with kindness & respect is such a blessing. The ability of these men to handle this heavy equipment with such finesse & not cause any harm made a difficult time so much easier to bear. In each case they responded quickly to the call & the cost was very acceptable. I have much respect for these operators & their willingness to help bring closer in a very emotional time. Thank you to all operators who answer the call to help in this situation. It is not easy to set yourself up for the emotions you will face, but believe me it is very much appreciated.
I agree with you on the skill of the operators. But, what harm they could possibly cause to a dead horse or even human? If you love that horse so much why don't you join hands with other people to bury it with your own hands, like you would do with your family members, instead of just hiring an excavator to handle it?
@@JJ-hp6mb Horses can weigh between 900-1200 pounds, not something 2-4 people can move easily. While no real "harm" could befall the horse after its deceased, its nice to not watch an excavator tear the carcass apart. That's what he means

@@Miki-shinano Forklift operators often transition to other jobs. It's like the intro level of working blue collar jobs.
The joke is that almost all companies have some sort of BS where they make you watch a video made in the 80s about safety, give you 15 minutes on the truck (at best), then hand you your certification. then trust you to drive a 10+ ton hunk of steel in close proximity to other humans who have a willful disregard for their own lives and safety who like to walk out in front of fully loaded vehicles.
Forklift operators spend a lot of time on their trucks, so get used to how things move when you nudge them. A good one can pick up a dime with their forks. This is a result of boredom and starting out on night shift where there is less to do and even less supervision. When the forklift operator decides the pay is shit and they can take their skills elsewhere, they often sign up to become heavy equipment operators. Where there is often even more time to screw off. Often because you are waiting for something, like the concrete to be delivered, an inspector to show up 5 hours late, or whatever. So they entertain themselves with dumb things like this.

This aint really treachery though, its just skill.
I'm born with treachery. He's my sibling and we're young..
Why do you assume the expert is old? Dont make fallacies
Well, an expert was once a beginner.
Or just scoop some dirt with it
but not necessarily an "idiot".
Haha.i was looking for this comment 😊👍

He is expert in laws of physics😂
This is the life skill I needed to survive
Or bury somebody in their homes
I chuckled out loud 😂
You also need to learn about spelling and grammar.

Much respect to the expert and the novice, you see him closely watching, eagar to learn how to run the excavator proficiently
Umm actually you see him just talking with his friend and paying no attention

@@tgfmohammad"umm actually" it was him who was in front watching carefully how the expert do it. It was another guy who was talking. 🤪 Look at the shoes dumbo. He didnt even open his mouth to try to talk to anyone.
@@tgfmohammad rewatch the video because you’re wrong. The amateur is to the left near the front of the group. He’s not talking to his friends. Those are different kids in the back

Every veteran was once a beginner
Seat time and some tricks from more experienced operators along the way is what makes a good operator. Also taking pride in your work.
CZcams: At this point, he'll watch just about anything 😣
😂
underrated comment!
😂😂😂
Soo true lol
I was thinking, wtf i am watching, and i had something planned to watch and make dinner😂😂 what is wrong with me😂😂
People who operate heavy machinery their whole lives are another level of impressive.
I worked in forestry for a summer and the contractors I worked with, their machines were like extensions of their bodies. I mean it was unbelievable. The pre-commercial thinning guy would just select a tree and pick it like a flower and put it together with the rest, never seen anything like it.
Really friendly guys too. I can’t imagine going to work with millions of dollars of liability on my back and trusting myself not to screw it up. I’ll stick to my lab work where someone else owns the equipment, thank you very much.
Man thanks I know you weren't talking about me exactly but from an operator of over 25 years that was the nicest pat on the back. Its a very fun but often unnoticed job. I hope you go far and one day maybe get a chance to operate. Its not as hard as it looks just start slow.
I agree it isn't easy to work in heavy machineries just like my dad, he's hands hurt everyday because of it but I'm happy that he enjoys his work❤
I worked in construction, It makes life so much easier for a laborer when you have a really good confident excavator on site. A beginner scared to get too close to things they might damage can leave you with a fair amount of shovelling, wheelbarrowing and digging by hand.
Always keep the good operators phone numbers.
My discomfort when the stone isnt coming in: 📈📈📈📈📈
Thats not expert vs novice, thats common sense vs Fred the New Operator
