When the time came for promotions, RBW truly fucked Esna over and after one performance kicked Esna from physical promotions. It was a hard time for her and now this music video and song are a sore subject for her. She’s actually released a “reply” remix to this song as her way to say F U to RBW after she left the company. Though I adore the song and even got to see her perform this live with mamamoo, I can’t help but feel sad every time I hear it :(

Looks like many others filled you in on eSNa. I got to hear her in LA a few years ago in 2017?. Altho she only did a couple of songs to musical backing tracks she did a good job on "holding her own" in at venue and program that really didn't suit her. It was at the Disney Concert Hall (built for the LA symphony) And besides Eric Nam the bill was filled with traditional Korean singers, a classical pianist and my fav for the night the Korean American Youth Symphony. It was a fund-raiser for the LA based Korean Youth Community Center. I think they raised ~1/2 mil.
On one music show performance for ah oop where esna isn't included anymore, hwasa did an adlib , she said "i love you esna" (or esna i love you, not sure which one is right but yeah she said she loves esna)

Its sad that the company decided to use it as "props" in the MV; back in 2014-15 these kind of wigs were used by many artist, the good thing is now we/they know more about the topic and stoped using them.
In all honesty... I find it a bit weird how Americans expect the whole world to be aware of their issues and history behind them, there is racism in the whole world but it doesn't always present in the same way, for example in the place where I life, it's really disrespectful to black people to imitate the way they speak, it doesn't matter if it's not with bad intentions, but Americans do that all the time, the whole world do it over and over, especially in the hip-hop / rap scene, they don't know/care that in this side of the world, that is offensive for other specific reasons. I hope you understand what I mean? I think mamamoo got judged too unfairly for it, especially since they probably didn't even decide to do that themselves.
