@@simplythebestgirl its always had problems - the creator Elena often writes about her political opinions (see recent elon musk news post for example - she thanks him for “saving twitter”). there was also drama around the beginning of covid, where they added the “free to choose” banner at the top of the website, which was seen as an anti-vaccine statement.
also on another recent news post about a christiano ronaldo fragrance, the writer of the post, who works for fragrantica, put their pronouns (they/them) in their bio. a bunch of commenters freaked out, telling them that there’s only he or she, they/them isn’t valid, and how they hate how “woke” everyone needs to be now, etc. there seem to be a large group of very loud alt right users on the site.

I want a full length Barbie video I enjoyed the short. But I wanted some explanation between all the picks. Especially with the Barbie movie coming out.
I smelled Father Figure at Sephora recently and I liked it a lot more than I thought I would. I’m not usually a huge vanilla fan but it was subtle enough that I could tolerate it. Not sure if I would like it enough to actually wear it though. My favorite Phlur by far is still Missing Person. That one is addictive but I do wish it was a little bit stronger.

Coach Love is gorgeous. Despite the Fragrantica reviews, there were only 3 .33oz bottles left on the shelf (2 now 😏). It reminds me of Body Fantasies Vampire. Some might find it too youthful, but I found it to be a sexy, fruity, juicy, gothy rose, with the cedar giving it a spooky woods base (no pencil shavings).
I am def interested in these especially the Kayali, Phlur, and Floral Street. The Coach has me super intrigued as well. I need to go to Sephora and smell some of these. Thanks for sharing your thoughts Lauren!!

I bought the new Byredo for myself as a birthday gift and I love it! Unfortunately their night veils-collection is really expensive, but I couldn't resist the prominent saffron, cassis, oud and praline. Very potent and delicious 😍

Coach Love is one of my favourite scents of all time! Big call I know. But it's so unique and delicious without being too sweet. It's like a delicate spicy comforting strawberry.

I definitely understand the nose changes. I used to only wear CK1 for yeeeeeeeears but now I'm heavily into woods and musks (so I obviously love your recommendations).
I would love to see more videos about new releases, etc. 💕 Kilian Princess Eau Fraiche is quite nice but pretty light wearing. I love the OG so couldn't resist picking this one up. I do smell the original DNA in there now but didn't when I first got it - instead I got this buttery vibe? Not really sure how to explain it. If you order, I would suggest letting it sit for a few weeks at least before wearing. It definitely needed time to "marinate" to bring that sweetness out, at least for me. 😂

Father Figure is REALLY good. I love it got to smell in store, so I bought a travel-size to start with. But I could have easily gotten a full-size.

You're spot on about Victor & Rolf Good Fortune. I was so eager because of the marketing and bottle and also it's past successful fragrances to sample it, and I was completely confused as to why it was giving so much boring!!

I’m excited for the new Britney Spears fantasy. I don’t have any of the fantasy line and never have. But, I was a huge lover of curios and this new one just has me intrigued! I’m usually an earthy woodsy kinda girlie and also fresh scents. Florals are my least favorite. I do want the new phlur perfume as well. But just bought hinoki fantome and chirosi 62 perfume so I need to say no this month. Hey, August is only 8 days away! Will be purchasing father figure soon.

Try the outremer vanille extract oil if you haven’t. It smells like the perfume and lasts really long throughout the day.

Kayali Silk Santal is nice, but I think there are better Sandalwood + Vanilla fragrances out there 😬 I know Kayali is a popular NAME BRAND to own but when i put this against other fragrances I love with similar notes - it isn't a favorite.

Ugh I just had multiple conversations about perfume prices creeping up. Designers are just out of their mind right now, some niche seems cheap in comparison 😅
I hate to admit it, but I had been majorly gatekeeping the Crumb Culture fragrance. 😉 I adore the scent, but it has absolutely NO staying power. Or sillage. No longevity whatsoever. Even when layered on top of a lotion, oil, or cream. It's very disheartening to spray it and inhale the scent and them POOF! It just disappears! I feel like I'm getting punked every time I spray it!😫

Citrus Circus is NOT it. They were pushing the whole creamsicle idea, it’s not that. It’s really just citrus. I get nothing creamy and no vanilla.
But what really made me RETURN it was the fact it disappeared within 20 mins of spraying and is soooo light. No thanks.
