I turned the game on last night, stared at the ship selection screen for 2 minutes debating which one would piss me off the least, and then shut my Xbox off and watched IASIP.
I thought CV spotting should work like a visibility of ships increase. For example a DD with 5km detection would get a 50% increase to 7.5km when spotted by air. That % would go down for larger ships, but would at least allow other ships to see some of what a CV is spotting.
Well, I've done it with another WG product World of Tanks before. Just dropping it one weekend and never looking back. 10k gold in the bank and hundreds of tanks in the garage, but enough was enough. Now I've got the same tingling with boats. At least my playing time has dropped significantly. 🤷♂️
After they totally changed World of Tanks with that one update I played one game and uninstalled. I've never really got into World of Warships as I almost knew that they would also ruin this game at some point. I maybe play a couple games a month now.
Love the Cinderella reference - proper 80's deep cut. Petro still one of my faves, such a fun ship. I haven't quit but I've probably played less this week than I've done in a few years. With half the blue team (sometimes more!) hiding behind an island the OP red CV gets to focus the few people who're actually trying. That gets old pretty quickly.
Good video, jerk. I think I’m one of the few people who isn’t too bothered by the carriers being too strong. They will certainly tweak it, but WG gonna do what WG gonna do. I like your idea of support ships providing AA cover to DDs. Maybe they could just make AA circles bigger so there is more overlap around the map.
There's so many things that could be just tweaked a little bit.. from plane speed using more fuel (or less), but really its just the interaction of all the classes right now. Not claiming to be a CV main as they just weren't for me, but I didn't really mind them like they were before (aside from when in a division), but I also understand it not being appealing to players. Everything seems very disconnected right now. DD's sort of running wild, CVs running wild, BBs stuck in the back trying to dodge, and CAs/CLs waiting for something to be spotted. There wasn't exactly a ton of teamwork before, but it feels even more disassociated to me right now. 👍
it seems to me that a CV can put out over 200 planes in a match or more. A A Ron ran a demo in which he shot down 230 planes....and the carrier still had more planes available....it was the Kaga. If a CV can't run out of planes then it's potentially invincible in capable hands. So I think a Metajerk 9-kill carrier performance is now in order.
Forget even the competitive balance aspect (which is huge), but the idea of a single carrier even having 140+ planes to put up is ludicrous. Just get rid of aircraft regeneration altogether and balance around that.
Today i started my game and played a game in nagato and one in zeppelin bcoz of the update noob players were playing i was in a drive by and i almost killed a ship but it had some hp left so i asked my team for support 4 players shot at it but they all missed i left the game snacked my chair outside
Great video Meta. I've said to my wife of many occasions this guy (metajerk) could sail out in an orange box with nothing but a sling shot and get a Kraken! How many games per ship do you play on average to achieve this? Many thanks. 👍⚓
It depends, some ships are way easier than others.. I think I could play Neustrashimy maybe 1000 times and might get one, but then there are others where it’s on demand (like kleber).. but I’ve always found it more fun for me to try it in the less popular and harder ships.. OG Azuma was _really_ tough, I think it took like 200 games, but I’d say with most it’s around 40? I’m old, it takes me a while to figure out the nuances of each ship. But other times you just get lucky
I saw you in Petro a few weeks ago and you ended up sinking me. I told my team in no uncertain terms, “DO NOT LET JERK KRAKEN”! We don’t want to end up on the red team in a video.
Well, that’s the thing with super testing, you can provide feedback, but the purpose is to find bugs, not balancing, weegee gonna do what weegee gonna do!
We can bitch all we want in all of their social media channels. Them testers can supertest all day every day long. But this update most of all proves that the only language WG understands is money language. So talk with your wallet.
@@metajerk Does it correspond with the map size? I remember one point where there was an issue with BB detectability due to smaller sized maps on console. It honestly feels like they changed it to more than 100 meter back in the day, im sure you have the correct change though + Eric Bey had 1% taken off his trait... I personally enjoy the scenarios with 2 DD fighting for a cap without seeing each other if they stay in the fringes of the cap point. CVs messed up DD gameplay a whole lot and everything suddenly received radar and I know I wont get any sympathy from the player base since I only play pesky DD's hehe
They will never be able to make them both fun to play while also not having the rest of playerbase pulling their hair out. Just the nature of the class. It cant be balanced.
I tend to agree, especially for the very small dev team for legends.. making them fun _and_ balanced is probably just not possible. But how far can weegee bend the rest of the playerbase without breaking them? I guess thats the real balance factor
IMHO, the issues would be resolved if us yes US as players should be playing as a TEAM and not all single players. We all need to use our classes as they were meant to be used. Cruisers need to support the dds with AA the destroyers should ,well be dds and capture and spot, and bbs need to cover us all from semi range and fight other bbs and cruisers. It's not rocket science. It's down to us to adapt and stop being lone wolf 🐺 chasing kills. It's a TEAM game ,y know like real sea war ..
oh for certain, in the dream world, but here, it's a game, and people are driven by how they want to have fun, and for 55% of the players thats playing a BB and a BB only, so the classes seem imbalanced.
Games are more interesting already. Less black hole strategy. BBs move forward way more. Less cruisers dev struck from 19km away. DDs can play the objectives more effectively. Only unhappy people are passive BBs with an accuracy build who damage control single fires. I hope they don’t bring the plane spotting back. It was too often destroying any attempt to “make a play” and favoured passive players just sirring there, waiting for an opportunity to shoot at something. They would never play the objectives but certainly wouldn’t allow the enemy to play them either.
hmm, thats an interesting point.. but there are a variety of styles that different nations & classes excel at. As mentioned elsewhere, the italian cruisers are very reliant upon the plane spotting, as are british heavy cruisers. I do like people moving forward and have long lamented the general passivity that some players show, but that also appeals to the broader base.. This isn't a hardcore game, and trying to make it as such will probably alienate a decent amount of players, which is antithetical to game health. I also fear that this will make "meta" ships the go to, and cause less variety, but I guess we will see, only WG knows whats next!
That's the issue right there. That attitude of IN AN IDEAL WORLD, why be part of the problem, when we actually have the power to change the way we play as an individual. This whole in an ideal world shtick just passes the buck.wg is trying what it can by introducing fleets etc but at the end of the day it's up to each and every one of us ,the way WE play and use the mechanics .you said it yourself that people play the way they have fun, so why piss and moan, there is a way to counter cvs but it's not fun to do that apparently,. In a nutshell it's weird to create the issue then complain it exists. Ggs .
Honestly CVs probably never should have been added to begin with. They are either not enjoyable to play or they are not enjoyable to play against for everyone else. They somehow have yet to find a happy medium after like 5 years and its pretty sad because that are some cool CVs in history that could be added if they ever find a way to balance them.
There is no doubt they're divisive.. Personally I always found it a Griefing Class, but others may genuinely enjoy it. What I think they have now is just a pure Trolling Class
Haven't bought anything other than a campaign since carriers came in. Leave carrier games since day one, I just quit carrier games lol I play for fun, carriers just don't fit.

I know the feeling, today I was like "well, where do I want to suffer?"
But I just did the 3 bureau missions and that was it 🫠
"Hey, I'm a reasonable guy. But I've just experienced some very unreasonable things." 😅

Prior to this update, you could deplane a Kaga with 76 planes shot down, the fact its over 3 times that now is definitely a "small change"

Give CVs more variety is planes, drop smokes, sonar buoys, reduce their combat aircraft
So many options other than "DPM" 🙃
I was wondering what was going on with the spotting. Thanks for the info meta.
Yes, it’s gotten quite complicated now.. will probably provide examples this weekends stream 👍
Hot take: I like this update , also which line should I grind first the petro or the other one idk its name, Am at both tier 5 cruisers.
Personally prefer the Petro line as it is AP focused, the Donskoi line is more HE focused
Well said Jerk, well said.
Gg🍻
oh right, there was a game wasn't there? 🤣
Thanks Boss
Cheers!

I havent played this game in over a year, actually considered coming back....
Well, if you like CVs, now is the time to do it! 🙃
@@metajerk haha I think that and the endless money grab was the reason I left in the first place.

Destroyers giving up even more detectability? Didn't that happen 2 years ago?
100 meters! But if we compare to pc, all of ours DDs have _significantly_ lower detection ranges.
