This change was made for Mega Walls and it was one of the most liked changes on hypixel. Every single person is happy about this change, and the people who are bhopping will keep bhopping on alts anyways, so the only people who comp bans were hurting were legits getting false banned.
Also to add to this point further, no, the admins weren't quick to fix the issue. Sure 30 minutes may seem quick but that was 30 minutes AFTER the dupe was released in every single public pit server. With that ammount of publicity its hard not to see it within the first 5 minutes and put it on lockdown instantly :c

I Got unbanned during the comp ban reform, i decided to play pit and prestiged to 1. Im liking pit atm glad i got unbanned, wish there was more chain players so i can streak tho

if it was a very recent ban I think it is still in place, and this only applies to the competitive ban status, not regular bans
