  • Looking for a city and ski break? Look no further... Innsbruck is a bustling city with world-class skiing. It's surrounded from all corners by some of Austria's best ski areas, making it a unique spot for visiting skiers. Some are directly accessible from the town centre, whilst others are a short transfer away. Experienced skiers will get excited by the steepness of Nordkette and the heights of Axamer Lizum, whilst the less confident skiers can take advantage of the more mellow treelined slopes at Schlick 2000, Mutters and Igls, close to the city centre.
    Join the Ski Club and Kevin Harris as they join the locals and discover what the Tirol has to offer.

    Awesome video! I'm a traveler from US planning to go to Innsbruck and visit on my way back to US... sometime next month (December 2018). I didn't plan to go skiing so I don't have ANY gear with me. Do you know of a place that rents out personal gear as well as skis, googles, etc

    If you're not a skii enthusiast.. is it still recommended to go up in the mountains and do the cable cars or other snow sports? does it occupy an entire day?

    • @25manif
      @25manif Před 5 lety

      it is! you could go sledging or hiking... if you are not into it, it is still worth to see the view up there

      Also you can visit Innsbruck in summer and go hiking, which is very relaxing and the mountains are much mor beautiful in summer. Atleast in my opinion.

    We like to point out the red bus from the front door take you to the centre of the city finish at the railway station there in the book office you can pay for a bus plus train tickets direct to resorts like st Anton or soilden. Which is 22 euros from the airport to the centre of the village austria is easy to travel around on and far cheaper than France if driving from the uk the motorway is free most of the way and in Austria. Any petrol station will sell you a dart tag like the dart ford cross to use the motorway network for 20 euros per week Night life is better and villages more beautiful but best of all the austria ski areas all have investors in snow making gear there are 4 area in Austria that you can ski from October to June or July and Hintertux. Is all. Year round 365 days a year so why go to France at the same miles from the uk to pay French tolls on the roads I left France over 10 years ago for the austria alps to live there this city is most non ski transfer ski area in the world and supper place to ski for all even if you just fly in for the weekend !
