Open Theremin - Build and first play 4.0 / 4.5

I enjoy creating guitar effect pedals and regular look at amps and usually end up looking at Theremin schematics. Usual these designs are from the past and use parts that are long past stocked. The original Moog Theremin kit featured adjustable inductors that I have searched and searched for. I then think about making my own inductors....and then realize its going to be more effort that its worth.
Thankfully there are modern circuits also available, one of them is open source and available.

This is based around an Arduino, so in the future it will be interesting to pick it a part and what the code on that I running. The kit has all this preinstalled and just need some basic parts attaching.
To calibrate the unit you press the button on the front, this can take a minute, but once complete the Theremin is really responsive, there is very little noise and can create some rumbling basses to howling highs.
There are enough features on the front to keep it interesting, and that's before adding effects. This is going to be a fun foley tool.
I still have a lot of learning with this but I look forward to seeing what I can do with it. it also has midi and CV outs which could be very interesting....

That's a really cool project! Congrats on the build! I recently designed my own open source theremin that's cheaper and easier to build the PCB (you can do it at home) and it doesn't suffer from the aliasing issue open theremin exhibits when generating high pitch
