Yeah... the game Is called board traveler, because when the game travelled to the US they turned Dark Magician Girl into a Board
There is a special place in the Shadow Realm for whatever monster decided to censor Dark Magician Girl's glorious bewbs.
No card/deck in the history of the real card game has experienced a nerf as big as what DMG got in Destiny Board Traveler …
Here's a fun tidbit. A lot of people refer to a tribute as a "sacrifice." You'll notice that the term is never referred to as that in the game however for censorship type purposes. The reason the Thousand-Eyes Restrict effect was as intense as it was is likley due to the OCG naming/theme around its card series..Sacrifice. Reliquished was called Sacrifice in the OCG and all its related cards had related naming/themeing in its effects. The sacrifice was typically the opponent's monster and was representational of Pegusus sacrificing others for his own goal. It was a dark contrast to his toons jn infered what he had become at the loss of his innocence/persual of power to revive his wife. This is alla. Bit heavy and the concept of Sacrifice in this manner is a bit nuch..tribute and relinquishing infers less harm and more concent so they replace that term.
Weird. I don't recall any manga translation that I've read showing anything like that.

That was a really interesting watch, I'm surprised HOW many different uncensored arts made it across all those games. 😅
Ring (or Bell) of Destruction being uncensored in Eternal Duelist Soul always stood out to me, especially since I had played 7 Trials to Glory first and was very familiar with the censored art from being blown out by it
JP Board Traveler DMG was a massive buff for whatever reason. She wasn't THAT big in the manga or anime.

Interestingly in EX2006(Ultimate masters 2006),
You can change the language setting in JP version to see all the "censored" artworks.
I'm pretty sure you can't get original uncensored artwork even if you change language to japanese in other versions.
Infact, the entire JP-version is in there.
What's funnier about the Helios cards being uncensored in Ultimate Masters 2006 is that the second form is one of the campaign duelists. That includes the larger coin flip art, like there's no way the booba haters could have missed that but they did somehow. It's not as eye catching as DMG in Destiny Board Traveler, but still very noticeable.
I do find it funny that red eyes are censored from the ocg to tcg. 4 kids however adds red eyes to the show to allow the "stupid kids" (who I think are a lot more intelligent than 4 kids gives them credit for) to see mind control is happening.
While demonic entities are somewhat more intense than subtle mind control you could make the claim that a demon would control people with a faint red glow in the victims eyes. So either way it doesn't really work...
There's always something with that 5 pointed star that always gets changed lol. Japan seems to not like it as much today either cause I recall instances where it's been censored in the anime and even in the colored manga release.

Been playing DM5 and DM6 lately; the art and all the other stuff is so much better. DM5 is a completely different game compared to EDS. PROTIP: The Japanese UM2006 still has the language selection, so you can play it in English.
EDIT: I checked out my JPN copy of UM2006 and the art is uncensored OCG art if playing in Japanese, but if you change it to English, it changes to the censored TCG art. :/
DM5 is very funny. I looked into the potential to fantranslate it and this feels like a lost cause without major effort by experienced romhackers.

Helios duos is basically pregnant which is why helio trice is the evolution of this card and why they re so small compared to the 2 other ones. Trice are the children.

Yugioh is one out a small handful of franchises that I know which got censored hell and back over something incredibly mundane, related to religious, and just because girls have boobas. A real shame for destroying the creator's design.

Hm...exodia had a PENTAGRAM. 5 edged stars. And, the 6 edged star or HEXAGRAMM. Actually is a commonly used symbol for magic.
I'm not sure how many glitches or Easter eggs there are in them but it would be really cool if you could cover the tag force series of games.

All this censorship is sad enough on its own, but it's even sadder when you remember that the franchise still gets censored to this day. It's like they still somehow think they're marketing to children in the mid-2000s.

I once modded the text phrases in one yugioh game for the ds we used to play with my neighbors as kids/teens.

Red Cross is a nonprofit medical organization here that specializes in first-aid care. That is likley why it is not removed. It isn't a religious symbol but a widely known symbol for the group that shows up on first-aid kits commonly. They are the authority for first-aid provisions and provide first-aid/CPR/AED training for jobs tgat require it. If you met a US lifeguard, they would have had to undergo Red-Cross certified First-aid and CPR training.
It's treated like a religious symbol the way they "protect" it.
Indeed, it's actually protected for use of symbolizing medical care per the Geneva convention, and using it in a Yugioh card is a violation of the Geneva convention so they were forced to change it
