She killed it and the band did too. Taken too soon. Rest in peace, Selena.
@@cameron6249 lol yeah ... but it's not like they dunno the chords at all ... how weird ...
seems like Selena liked black people's music.. soul music.. 90s , yes girl 🙌🏾🙌🏾 R.I.P👸🏽
me too.. you should see me dance........ I've been watching this video for years... how did you guys find out about this video?? :D
Street Fighter Kidd they will never understand that black and brown folks are just a boat stop difference
I know it may have been hard for Selena to do this kind of music because her crowd may have not been use to this kind of music but it’s such a huge honor that she was influenced/inspired and rep the black culture as much as she could I’m a black woman who looks up to her dearly.
6/3/20 Just found out maybe 20 minutes ago. She did a good job!
czcams.com/video/JU3mBSbhM_w/video.html
She mainly toured in the US so they knew this song. I had a Mexican co-worker and she sung Knocking Da Boots word from word and then start singing Anita Baker
{ Abel Muhammad } Put this in on CZcams and watch his videos. He is a Mexican Latino Minister in the Nation of Islam.
@@pisceanchaniece5066 yes they are American so they know the music . If her father wasn’t over her she not Chris and em would have done Tejano
@@LisaLisaCJ you’re not getting what I’m saying. What I’m saying is R&B music can go beyond the US
This made me love Selena even more.
Texas Loves SELENA... have yall seen her Janet Jackson and MJ, PEBBLES, DEBBIE GIBSON covers
i wish people knew selena’s hiphop/r&b side of her, she was actually transitioning to r&b type of music but then the thing happened...
a lot of tracks on Christina Aguilera’s debut album were actually suppose to be sung by Selena believe it or not
Selena died an R&b singer. She was heavily influenced by Foundational Black American Music.
@@Ned_Slanders she actually just performed In arenas where others have concerts aswell, so to kill time she gives other songs as a throw off to continue the show, Especially cause this is in the u.s, FACTS
i don’t know about this, in chris’ book it seemed she was more interested in rock/country rock
I didn't know she covered this song! Another one that was taken away too soon. Selena was a beautiful soul.
jmeeze neither did I lol 😂. But a very valiant effort, may she R.I.P. very talented young lady.
6/3/20 I said the same thing. Just found out a few minutes ago. That's what brought me hear.

To think that march 31st 2021 will mark 26 years since she was tragically murdered makes me so deppressed. I was just talking to my friend yesterday about her and my lips starting to quiver and i could not hold it in and i started to cry. Like it felt so deep pain in my chest. God!
I'm a black man from Louisiana who loves some SELENA as well!!! R.I.P Selena! God Bless You! You are dearly missed!
Same, bro. I was devasted when she died, I was hoping her crossover album would make her a bigger sensation.
Between her and then Aalyiah dying around 00, I was shook.

DirtyFace Capone I agree. I was just watching their old videos because I just watched the movie today and this was a suggestion.
Shout out to Selena for covering and performing a black artist. She is missed and well respected by us black Americans.

hey.. I've been watching this video for years... how did you guys find out about this video?? :D
I wonder have Ralph saw this before? This must make him smile! Rest on Selena 💜
Selena was a beautiful, highly talented, and charismatic woman. Notice that her notes are on-point back during the pre-Autotune 1990s. Her band was tight too. What a loss...RIP.
SOOO Beautiful, she did a great job and look her husband is in the back on guitar! So cute!
Selena's voice on New Jack Swing instrumentals are amazing. Unfortunately she only did one NJS song, "Enamorada de Ti", which is fuckin' amazing by the way.
She also did a song with the Barrio Boyz called “Dondequiera Que Estes” and “Wherever You Are” in English. It’s a New Jack Swing/R&B genre song.
enamorada de ti is the spanish version of is it the beat that’s the Og
@@AngelLuxOfficialThat was me and my cousin Crystal's JAM together back in the day💯 We used to wait for that song in Puro Tejano, Tejano Country, or catch it on the Telemundo and Galavision🎵🎶 I messaged the video to her a couple of months ago and she was like MAN!!😁
I'm shook...never knew she did a cover of this song. 🌹
I can’t explain how good this version makes me feel. I love her version & the original. 💜
Girl I watched this video like almost ten times on repeat. It’s so good! 😍
WOW wish they'd put this in the movie of her life
Right omg... and tbh I think jlo would have killed the dance moves because she was a dancer and she danced like this so it would have been good 🤧
Most definitely would've did a little more for the movie even though it was great
Selena did amazing with this performance, I love her version 💜
@@Iceis_Phoenix well, in Selena's case, she Bodyed it. no pun intended. giggle
I think she did a great job. It was hard enough being a female in a male-dominated genre. For her to have the bravery and fearlessness to get on that stage and introduce something new to her audience just blows me away. She could sing anything and it was amazing. 💜
Selena grew up on RnB music. Her biggest influences were Janet Jackson and Whitney.
Her stage presence is A1!!
Man that girl was the Truth!!! I'm so feeling this version!!!
We need to work on our black and Brown pride!
Kyle Aaron black and brown are the same just a boat stop difference. You can tell if they are our people or not.
wow...i was expecting this to be a fake video!...Selena was too cool!
I'm HUGE SELENA fan and I've NEVER heard this before and she slated me
how do you even miss a woman you never even met? painful. such a talented women.
This is the first time I watch this video. Selena killed it in her version of Ralph Tresvant's song Sensitivity. RIP Selena!! I wish you're here with us this day.
She DID that dance. LMAO. She was so vibrant and fun...so sad she was taken away so soon.
I’m going to watch this video everyday...that’s how much I love it.
Between her & Aaliyah...just sad...beautiful, young talent gone too soon
That band is on point!!!
Music knows no color. We are all Influenced by Universal Culture . Embrace what speaks to your soul. I'm a black guy who grew up in a strict religious household courtesy of my mother . My dad is soul, funk, jazz, r and b but yet I like them all but still I enjoy Celtic music, heavy metal like Korn ,Native Music , Rap, Hip Hop . All these styles of music help me compose poetry and find my voice thru freestyling on different sounds. Thank You Selena , your gift of song will never die as long as we keep the music of your angelic spirit alive. 🕊⭐🙏🌹
Who’s ever on that drum is killing it hitting it with some rhythm
I believe if she was still here she woulda made more songs like that smh...RIP Selena🌹
Lisa Rene yeah she was.... just before she was killed she was about to cross over I believe into doing pop/more english music unfortunately that never happened
Yeah she would’ve made her own rnb songs that are inspired by Ralph Tresvant’s Sensitivity. I love that rnb song. She sings it better than him. I actually love this version better than the original. You can here the instruments and hear her voice better.
I'm just now seeing this and wow! I dig it.
Selena use to groove frfr that lady be rocking on stage I love it 😍😍😍
This is new to me😮didn't know she sung this she sounds great that guy dancing on stage sure moving💃🏾
Aww, I didn't know Selena covered this song! This was the jam! Who knew??? Selena ❤️
I listen to this over and over again!!! it's a great version, a better cover than the original one. Selena proved how versatile the singer was
I love her, but I love her even more after seeing this
She was an angel wasn't she, I'm glad I got into her music when I did..... I remember making a mix tape of her music for my aunt
She was going to take over R&B , I miss her
I love this you can tell Selena was super soulful especially when she said “Get Busy” I love it ✨🤧 damn I wish she would have crossed over she would have killed it I miss her although Selena wasn’t black you can see her soul was and that’s why our African American community looks up to her so much I’m so honored and bless to watch her with these videos I never met her nor was I born during this time period but I can just feel her through everything she did she was truly a beautiful person so for everyone who has seen her live or talked to her or hug her be grateful because it’s so many who haven’t
@@cameron6249 Who’s lying on our community? 😂😂😂 I’m a black woman myself… All I was doing was acknowledging Selena’s soulful performances lol. It’s many people within our community who like her I don’t see an issue 🤷🏽♀️
@@RaveUn2theJoyFantastic come on, you know damn well we never heard of her before her death. sayin we look up to her is soooo disingenuous, the girl is just singin covers, what's there to look up to? we are the greats, not them (non blacks). they follow us, we don't follow them so how are we lookin up to them??? there's a lot of pandering going on in these comments 🤣
oh btw, we need to stop throwing the word "soul" around like a basketball because the vast majority of blacks (let alone non blacks) have no idea what soul is!
@@cameron6249 I can see where you’re coming from! Many people discredit/disregard the blueprint but I think the “Looking up to her” comment was taken out of context. Personally, I’ve always liked how she carried herself & how she strived to be a positive role model for everyone which was admirable. I remember someone asking Prince about music or soul in an interview and he always said it’s something you can’t describe you can only feel which is what I meant by that you can tell she always felt what she sang that’s all. I still respect her as an artist and I will continue to stand by that but I appreciate the conversation though 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
@@RaveUn2theJoyFantastic ok, it's just that i'm a gatekeeper when it comes to black legacy's and greatness. 2 many ppl puttin undeserved non blacks on black pedestals. btw, that question for prince was about funk, not soul.

This is so lit! An R&B classic and a popular track in the Black community and she killed it! This Brown sister had soul! I mean, hey, she was raised listening to some R&B, so I guess this is sort of a given lol. RIP to the Queen!
She was to pure for this world she crossed racial lines through their beauty personality and music like many other artist whose life were cut short like Jimi Hendrix, Aaliyah, Amy Winehouse, Left-eye people with these souls dont stand a chance in this world.
She could’ve done anything and pulled anything off, she was just a natural talent RIP
One of my favorites from her... Selena lives forever! Thank you so much... Спасибо Селена, ты прекрасна! Молодец ❤❤❤
WHY AM I JUST SEEING THIS NOW AW
I would have loved to see see her and Ralph collab on stage to this song 💯
I love this version of the song I love how she sing it and beat is amazing love it.

OMG Selena was so dope. She would be so big right now.
This was Kool dig it.It also shows how high RALPH and Michael etc was singing.
You could always tell she was HEAVILY inspired by blk American culture she was hittttting that shit 😂😂
Yep. She loved Janet, Jackson, Michael Jackson, salt n pepper and taste of honey. People like that. And even probably soulful stuff like soulful rnb probably that we probably don’t know who her specific favorites were.
Nice Version By The Lovely Selena.💮💮💮 Her sister's drumming 1-0-0!!
Imagine she was still here 😩🙏🏼 she rock this track and her sister rock them drums
Such a tragic loss. She was just about to go worldwide. So much beauty and talent.
Never heard this one but DAMN she did her thang on this one
Cool! Got any more gems like this????? I always say we were robbed of this lovely talent. She'd have been so much fun to watch on TV & stage in the US. She was flyer than the Fly Girls! (Trust me, I know this is Selena Quintanilla Perez.) Thank you for sharing. ^__^
Flyer than the fly girl. Why y'all always trying to shade JLo? SELENA was her own person and so is JLo. Respect the Queens.
LatashaTrueHeart - Jennifer Lopez who played Selena in the Selena movie was a Fly Girl!!
RIP Princess of Tejano music... That was tight.
my sister attended this concert. She said while she was singing this song alot of people were saying "why is she singing that" or "why would she sing that?" bc most of the audience was there for the cumbias and to dance. I think the reaction pushed her dad to resist her singing in english for many years after this.
I can’t stop watching this. I’m on replay 25 or so. It’s become a comfort.
😂Omg when she said they weren't supposed to sing 👑QUEEN👑
She was THE WHOLE Package. Her dancing skills really showed out in this performance! So light on her feet!

well damn! i been sleep cause this here is dope!

You will always be a legend. 🌹
Selena killed it! 🙌🏽🙌🏽
She was so cultured bro! RIP beautiful ❤️
Also, I wouldn't be surprised if somewhere along the line, Selena did have African ancestry. Mad Afro Mexicans live in Costa Chica and El Azufure, but thanks to ideas that Black Mexicans don't exist, they're erased from conversations like this. There are probably more Mexicans with African ancestry (Emiliano Zapata was one of them), as at one point from the 1600s-1800s, Mexico was bringing in more enslaved people than any other part of the Americas. Mad love to shorty for covering this joint; I love it.
This kills me, so many feelings hit just now.
This is a treat for me. The radio where I live has been playing this song a lot lately. To randomly come across this performance by Queen Selena is EVERYTHING. ❤
For those who didn't know, this was her favorite song. Her husband said she played it all the time. 💜
Fun fact: her husband is playing the white bass guitar behind her
I always liked Ralph. He was talented. How about that. Amazing fact!
In my opinion, her cover version is better than the original! It’s too bad she never recorded it. It’s lovely.
