Years since it got released and we already have rise. But that "capcom presents" SoS scene accompanied with the iconic theme still, to this day, gives me goosebumps and tears in my eyes. The entire Monster Hunter series has a huge place in my heart. Happy Hunting my dudes!

That's me, didn't know shit about MH even tho I'm extremely familiar with Capcom, mainly through RE, tried MHW in 2020 cuz i was sick of Western games. It was the best gaming decision ever. I'm a fiver now, ready to carry this series for generations to come!
this is still my favourite game of all time, the aboslutely insane upgrade this game has compared to prior MH games, while it was completely different it was just so good and still is so good, i'm really enjoying rise but i still think this is so much better
Watching this makes me tear up because I fell in love with the MonHun series as a whole through World (yes I'm sorry, World baby). But I picked up GU when Rise released and I really wish I had played the older games when they first released. I can't imagine the excitement a veteran hunter felt when they saw this trailer.

I have been wanting Capcom to develop a sequel to Dragon Dogma (an underappreciated fantastic action RPG) but Monster Hunter World will do for now, it gave me the same satisfaction and fun i had with Dragon Dogma (despite the obvious differences between the two it is also clear both games influenced each other).
Well normally I would agree, but after I played it myself on PC, I have to say that MHW is way too easy for a MH veteran like me. It looks good and feels nice, but most of the fights lack tension and most of the weapon designs are meh.
@@YAH93 They 100% are. Lack of omni-directional rolling, lengthy turn around animation after Sprinting, unnecessarily long recover frames (literally takes 1 whole second to move after any animation. It looks stupid because your character just stares into space in that 1 second), and finally the infamous 3ds controls make everything I said 10 times worse.
I only just got into Monster Hunter with World coming to Game Pass on Xbox. I know, sucks that it took me this long, but at least I finally got into it, right? I wanted it years ago on PSP but never got around to buying it because I didn't really know what it was. I always went with the games I KNEW I'd like. I got a 2DS really late, so I didn't really have the ability to get those MH games. But now that it's on Xbox, I can totally play it. I'm currently HR13, messing around with the Spring Blossom Event to get the Ryu outfit, and Megaman outfit for my Palico. I gotta say, one of the best parts of getting into Monster Hunter has been the community behind it. I hang out on the MHW subreddit, and *most* of the people there are super nice and friendly. I've been watching a ton of CZcams videos of people playing the beta and starting a new game on World, and everyone is so excited and happy. It's like seeing a little kid on Christmas almost every time. Then there's the reaction videos like this, where people are so into the series that they just have to see the first second, when the sword pops into frame, and they're instantly losing their minds. Or when Rathilos shows up to mess up the Anjanath, and people flip out (even if they think it's a Rathian instead). There's also the thousands of videos that aren't reactions or beta impressions. People like the Game Grumps doing a handful of videos on the 3DS MH, where they group and to take on specific monsters. Or videos of people going super in-depth with tutorials for every weapon and monster. Back to reaction videos though for a second. It's actually super interesting for someone like me, that honestly only JUST got into the series, to see just how popular Monster Hunter actually is. I sorta always knew MH existed, but I never played it. Nor did I look up videos of people playing it. I kinda just assumed it was one of those series that was a Japan-only thing. But seeing reaction videos to World, just..damn. You got grown-ass men losing their minds and almost crying over a new Monster Hunter game. People flipping out over the simple fact that a new Monster Hunter exists before even seeing the actual gameplay. To repeat myself, it's like seeing a little kid getting the exact thing he wanted for Christmas. The best part is before people know what it is then just watching their faces widen and eyes pop out of their head as soon as they realize what it is. The whole community(or most of it, let's be honest, there's a bad apple here and there like anything) is fucking amazing. One of the best ones I've seen. Definitely one of the least toxic. So many people are perfectly willing to stop what they're doing to type out entire paragraphs of information for new players if asked. I see new players pop up in the MHW subreddit almost every day, and the amount of helpful and surprisingly non-condescending info people provide is almost ridiculous. These people go out of their way to make new players feel welcome and try to keep them playing. Unlike most player bases that, if you're new, they'll shun you like you're part of a plague. I just gotta say thanks to all the Monster Hunter veterans that have made all of us new players actually want to continue playing. All of you that have actually helped us figure stuff out. All of you that type up huge multi-page comments full of useful info. All of you that make a ridiculous amount of videos helping new players learn weapon combos, or monster movements. So yeah, thanks for that. I dunno how much I'd personally be playing World if I didn't have so many helpful people keeping me going. I might have quit a few ranks ago, getting annoyed on something, if I didn't know what I was doing because of all the tutorials and help. Now, even though I'm only HR13, I'm at a point where I sorta know what I'm doing enough to hold my own. I don't quite need the help AS much. I'm trying to pay it back by helping other new players with the tiny bit of knowledge I've picked up from other people.

MH isn't as popular as you think in the west tho, I mean... 4U - XX was very popular in the west but not alot of people bought it. Then MH world came out and the MH franchise skyrocketed, some even tried to play the older games after reaching highest rank in mhw Iceborne.
@@llthll A lot has changed since I made my comment. I'm no longer the weird guy in my group chat trying to convince everyone to play MH, and I'm kinda sad about it tbh. MHW and MHR are fun, but nothing will ever compare to classic MH for me, both in terms of gameplay and community. I'm happy that MHGU exists because it's a celebration of what made me fall in love with the franchise in the first place.
Don't worry Steven, MH XX comes for Switch. And for me not owning a PS4 (and never will, not even for MH World), I'm gonna buy a Switch+MHXX bundle if it comes

There was this last game in my library that I wanted to try, it was MHW, and struggled for 1 day learning this game mechanics, it got me so hook that I unjailbreak my console and bought a digital copy of this game. never regretted it.

I'm not an og player but I do play the old gen, and I really understand how you all og hunters' feel when the first time you found out that your games suddenly had so immersive graphic and way better than the previous games, which basically had low resolution texture and more.

Then I move on to Monster Hunter Rise
Was literally me. Group of friends and I were watching E3 2017 in discord and as soon as I saw the Jawblade I started screaming. Everyone else was just confused asf lol
Been playing since MHF and don't plan on stopping. Best gaming franchise.
I remember watching this live with friends in party chat.
At first i was like "monster hunter ?"
Then "its different it cant be"
Then "omg monster hunter! Its happening"
Then months if panic because at that time capcom had a bad track record. I was worried they would fuck it up.
So glad they listened. Monster hunter world is still best in the series
I remember back then I JB'd my PS4, I played plenty of games and finish it. There was this last game in my library that I wanted to try, it was MHW, and struggled for 1 day learning this game mechanics, it got me so hook that I unjailbreak my console and bought a digital copy of this game. never regretted it.
I really love the hype thats chill and entertainement
