I've got mine hooked up stereo with the UA Ruby. Fantastic piece of kit!

How easy and glitch-free is the software? Some things online say the software is glitchy and quirky with problems. Was it your experience?

The preset at 4:45 is beautiful

You think with all the A.I. machine code they could simulate the tone stack of each amp profiled. But from what I hear, like the Kemper the profiles start falling apart once you start tweaking.
I hope they figure out their software issues, I’m still interested in this.

Thanks for sharing! Two questions: does it feels like close to like playing the real amp? (Dynamics.) and did you had the chance to plug it to a real cabinet disengaging the cab sim from the Tonex? I wonder how much the sound is modified?

Oh yes, I'm an old recording studio rat so I've had my good share of recording real amps for multiple metal albums. And yes the Tonex def. sounds like a real amp miced. I've run it through my Hiwatt amp and deactivated the cab sim. Sounds awesome! This is the best amp sim I've tried.

@@MattiasHolmgren I goodit plays well with real amps, with amp modelling off, did you go into the into the return FX loop? But how would you use with a looper in that set up? I normally run my looper in the fx loop. Also does it get on well with a wah pedal?

That's why people are switching to Tonex! Because it handles dynamic and volume changes like a real amp. Pedals 2.....

cool, didn't realise you also played guitar, followed your videos for bitwig/electronic stuff
the tonex is a great piece of kit, especially with the plugin/software integration, makes things pretty seamless between the two units, i prefer 'component style modelling' if that makes sense (fractal for me in this case) as i'm better at dialing in tones that way instead of the potential endless scrolling to find presets
sort of like the presets vs dialing in a synth sort of thing

Thanks Paul. Oh yeah, 👍 totally know what you mean. Yeah Im not a typical preset guy either. 😄 presets always have the footprints of the creator and it does not often ring a bell with my own ”sound” so I generally find a starting point….and tweak to taste. Did you try the Quad Cortex or Kemper? Totally different pricerange though.
More Bitwig stuff comin up 😎🥁

@@MattiasHolmgren presets can be good starting points, i admit on synths that's how i tend to do things but that's because my synth knowledge isn't that great to be fair, (playing guitar however since i was 15) i'm more at home with guitars/amps etc.. =)
and with the profiles, once you start adjusting gain/eq on a profile i have the feeling you're getting away from the 'snapshot' of the amp,
but if it sounds good , who cares =)
i used to own a kemper , some great tones, but again the preset 'issue' you can find some amazing profiles online, especially paid, but for the compulsive tweaker it's not as fun , and also you're always thinking maybe this other profile of the same amp through a different cab will be better for me .. etc etc..
have a QC on loan as well, some great sounds, but i'm so used to dialing in the Fractal FM3 for my needs and the extra tools/blocks it has (multiband compressor to name one and how controllers/scenes/functionality works), it's not something for me

Stock presets are worse than unusable for a pro musician. They are offensively bad haha. I do mean this literally; offensively poor/unusable

Dude you should have used a guitar with humbucker pickups. That's what most people are using. The single coil bridge pickup made all of the tones sound like shit.

Input is mono (unbalanced), output is stereo (unbalanced).
