- Lake Atitlan in Guatemala is known for its amazing natural scenery, Alexander von Humboldt called it "the most beautiful lake in the world". Lake Atitlan is 130 square km large and 340 meters deep, it is a volcanic lake with 3 volcanoes on one side, surrounded by mountains and towns where Maya culture is still alive.
In the video: scenes from main viewpoints around the lake, from the trail between Santa Cruz La Laguna and San Marcos La Laguna, from the towns of Panajachel, Solola, San Pedro La Laguna, Santiago Atitlan, San Juan La Laguna, from San Pedro volcano and the Indian Head.
Recorded November 2021 in 4K Ultra HD with Sony AX700 and DJI Pocket 2.

"Samabaj" is the name of the Mayan city that is submerged in the depths of Atitlán Lake, Sololá. It was discovered in 1996 by the Guatemalan Roberto Samayoa who dived for years in the depths of the water.

Nice to see you cover the lake in detail.was there around 2011 and flew directly over the lake also. Progress has not been good for the ambiance of this beautiful place dark side includes sewage directly into the lake and frequent mudslides .like to seen it 100 years ago still worth the visit

A great location, decent sized big lake in what are stunning surroundings. The boat footage came out really well and the town with the steep narrow streets looked like a fun place. As usual the video quality is excellent. 😊👍
