    @diytutorialguy I love these jeans where they a one time run? There Description is really weird first sanforizing the denim doesn't do anything for the look or color of the denim it is a chemical treatment that shrinks the denim before it is made in to jeans or jackets. So when you wash your denim for the first time. Then they are a super sluby denim not nepy. Slub denim is my favorite it's when they slow down the loom and it makes some high and lows and has that cool look to it if you look closely you can see and feel that it's what I think there describing as the green and blue look. But the green is probably the color of the weft I can't tell from the video. Most weft is white so when your denim fades you get the white lines with the this denim you are going to get green lines in your wiskers and honey combing. O and I bet they just did the pocket tag because that's how a lot of the work wear brands like dickys and I thought Carhartt did it too. Not trying to give you any shit you didn't write out that description and I could be totally wrong but the nepy denim looks like little white dots all over the jeans. Just wanted to give you some info I have learned not trying to put you down. I actually love the sluby denim and with the painter style double knee there like my old dickys I wore when I was painting houses. And I am with you on wearing your clothes and don't be afraid to get them dirty it's y you bought raw denim to give them character. Use your stuff every day I use to save my "nice" things for special occasions bring out the silver only with guests and Christmas not anymore I wear all my favorite things whenever they're clean and got rid of the table wear. Enjoy your stuff till it Disintegrates. O last thing they have this denim jacket and they added this feature in the arms like my jacket with leather arms you should review it.

      Thank you for sharing your knowledge and insight.
      The CZcams community needs more of this!
      I’ve done some jobs in these jeans, so I will be washing them this week.
      In the washing machine!
      As for the style, the double knee, Brave Star just released these in a tapered cut and a couple different colors.
      The taper cut is on my To Buy list!
      As for this jacket you speak of, do you have a link??

    You're the first guy I've heard say you're going to wear your denim hard like it's intended. I appreciate that because it's mostly been skinny new York rich kids wearing expensive heritage work wear that they would scream like a woman if they ever actually got them dirty. As a blue collar guy it's almost insulting that the clothes that was made for me is only being worn by men who work in offices

    • @DIYTutorialGuy
      @DIYTutorialGuy  Před 4 měsíci

      My man, that means a lot!
      I was a blue collar worker for a long time before moving into a different career.
      Landscaper, hardscaper, lawn crew, built tents, installed cable, and a mover to name a few…
      When I first got into raw denim, I was “that guy” who worried about getting jeans dirty. Then I realized how incredibly stupid that was, and that denim is meant to be beat up. It’s literally what it was designed for; working!
      I wear all my raw selvedge the same way now…like a pair of regular ass jeans.
      They get dirty? I throw them in the washing machine and they come out fine!
      Time to flip the script on all the dudes trying to look pretty in their misappropriated work wear cosplay!
      Thanks for watching, and for holding it down in the trades sector!

    Ian, hi!!!
    It turned out to be a very informative video!!! I've reviewed it several times!! Jeans are very interesting, the material is beautiful!!! They look very good, as if they were sewn on you!!! I understood your wishes, that it would be unnecessary not to spare work clothes, but it's a pity to dirty such pants with engine oil, here you need something in between to work with a tree !!!
    And so Ian you are a very good and charismatic presenter and you could easily work on TV.
    Good luck to you and your channel, as well as new creative ideas!!!
    Иэн , привет!!!
    Получился очень информативный ролик!!! Пересмотрел несколько раз!! Джинсы очень интересные , материал красивый!!! Смотрятся очень хорошо , как будто на вас шили!!! Я понял твои пожелания, что-бы излишне не жалеть рабочую одежду , но и машинным маслом такие штаны жалко пачкать , тут надо что-то среднее с деревом работать !!!
    А так Иэн ты очень хороший и харизматичный ведущий и ты бы запросто мог работать на ТВ.
    Удачи тебе и твоему каналу, а также новый творческих идей!!!

    Hey good review! I am a size 33 in every pair of store bought jeans I own. I know Brave Stars sizing is a little different, and after measuring using their suggested method with the tape measure, their website says I am a size 32. Any advice on waist sizing?

    • @DIYTutorialGuy
      @DIYTutorialGuy  Před rokem

      Thank you and good question.
      The size measurements on their site, and method of measuring are accurate.
      I wear a size 31 Levi’s 511, and a size 30 Goodfellow chino’s. Both are slim fit.
      With Brave Star I wear a size 30 for their slim taper and a size 29 for regular taper and true straight.
      I have no issues with fit with the Brave Star denim I own.

      @@DIYTutorialGuy I noticed it right out of the package. The company, which I love and I have a few of their jeans and one of their jackets, said that it's due to the dye. It's the kind of smell you get when you leave clothes in the washer too long or when they get wet and they kind of have that mildewy smell. The smell is pretty strong and it makes my shirt and my boxers smell and I don't want to wash them again cuz I already gave them a light wash in the tub and I don't want to have to put them through a machine cuz I love the color and the fit. These days I’m an IT Project Manager. Still in education with a company that partners with organizations and provides education as an employee benefit.
      As for why I left the classroom, it’s the same story as most other former teachers…I asked for a raise, was flat out denied, yet saw the $$ funding unnecessary stuff for the CEO (charter school) and not going toward the kids.
      It was getting hard for my wife and I to make ends meet, we were getting deep into debt trying to stay afloat, so it was time to leave.
      I definitely miss it at times, as the kids in Philly were great and I feel benefitted from a role model such as myself; a guy who lived through some heavy life events, lived in poverty for years, has kicked ass and had his ass kicked, was a highly intelligent student but hated school, and beat alcoholism and a drug problem.
      These days I’m involved in youth sports and looking for opportunities to mentor kids. I feel that so many kids just need an adult, that isn’t a parent or teacher, to listen and help them on their journey.
