Hi Kat! I use Better Gro Bromeliad Blend for most of my plants. It's just coco coir "soil", composted bark, and coarse perlite. It's pre-mixed and sold at Home Depot, Lowes, etc.

Such good info! Could you make a soil Playlist? It took me awhile to find both videos, and it might be helpful for new plant parents to get some good information on soil and how to treat pest infested soil right off the bat.
Good plan, I'm going to try your mix with some pot seeds, see what happens. I'm already getting great results using only Garden Works indoor potting soil with the built in plant food.

This is pretty much what I do. But I don’t use perlite bc I just hate it haha. I just add a lot of the orchid mix
i like pumice a lot more! the orchid mix is an awesome product though.
