Beautiful strumming guitar, Nicely played, you are fast on the finger Quinton... Thanks for all the work you put into this channel.👍
It sure is a looker! I love the colour and the pickguard. It sounds beautiful too!
A beautiful sound, lovely sustain.... makes simple minor chords sound so tranquil and distant. Glorious. This guitar really sings, even played lightly.
Your demo at around the 4 min mark was absolutely beautiful - dynamic, rhythmic, expressive - just so good! Thanks for making this. I’m deciding between the studio and considering whether I’ll be able to get over the fact it isn’t a “real” hummingbird. Superficial I know, but I know what I’m like 😂
Lovely balanced tone, a lot of Hummingbird fans would love to check this out.
I love the clean absence of decor and it sounds great
I have this exact guitar in this finish. I absolutely love it. And can confirm it’s a country songwriting beast.
That was some beautiful playing in the demo 🤌🏻. The guitar sounds just as nice as it looks.
I love getting there email in the morning inviting me to listen to another review by the laid-back duo of Quinton and Paull! Really dig your approach to these reviews and who cannot enjoy listening to Quinton play! I pour my coffee and sit on the edge of the bed and stare away at my laptop...Awesome.....Now for the guitar...really liked it ..would like to see a side by side with a true Hummingbird. Just a thought maybe an occasional description of what strings they come with....thanks ....Keep the reviews coming....I love my 5-10 minutes of bliss in the morning thinking of nothing just listening....stay safe everybody!
Nice playing! The studio model sounds great. Cheers
Wonderful playing Quinton! We need to get these high end American guitar makers to end the high glossy necks! My Martin Custom shop(00014 Addy top, Hog b/s, 5k$$$) needed to be sanded down before I could own it, and I love it! Even some guitars from Boutique brands like Bourgeois/Collings that had the terribly sticky necks. Currently, it falls on the local shop to make sure the luthier can sand it down.
If one likes rosewood back and sides, it is a fine instrument. It sounds very similar to Gibson’s Songwriter series.
What a picker, Quinton your one hell of a player man, I could listen all day. Nice guitar but I prefer the warm-ness of a Martin. I get excited when I see a new upload from you two. Thanks Paul and Quinton.
Ditto.........Love seeing the new uploads with these guys.
A yummy Gibson Hummingbird studio well played by Quinton. Thanks Quinton and Paul.
Some fine picking there from the mighty Q, nice sound too.
I ordered mine and it'll come next week 🤩
Beutiful gibson hummingbird studio rosewood..nice sound..beutuful cherry sunburst finish..i very like a hummingbird studio pickguard, same style with southern jumbo square shoulder model and western country style..
Sounds amazing
Does the depth of the sound loudness and quality of bass suffer due to the thinner body or no? I love strong punchy bass.
Do you guys know what string brand, gauge and alloy were on for this demo? Thank you for your time.
I don't like the narrow sides, although inlike Rosewood better than Walnut. This has a lot of sustain ill say that. The tone really shines through on this
Sweet Staff...👌🎸💥👍
Sound like you guys know acoustics, i want an acoustic bright and snappy, with rosewood back and sides, spruce top, 2500 limit, what you recommend?
I'm a "Martin gal" however, I have a Gibson 50's LG2 that's really nice. A keeper !
Go ahead Quinton, play the hell out of it, no matter what brand it is!
Awesome 🎸🎶✌️
Sound more balanced being rosewood. Still in the Gibson camp tone wise. A D-28 and Hummingbird Studio and your covered for anything. 👍🏼
What is the nut width and scale length on the Hummingbird Studio Rosewood? I play a Martin 00-15m and I think I want to keep the same dimensions. (ie. 1 11/16" and 24.75" )
What is the guitar on the wall behind Paul ?
That’s little too crispy for me! Does sound good.
i want to compare this to the martin d-28 since thats rosewood back and sides like this hummingbird studio version.
yeah that's a keeper
What song is he playing during the demo?
Hey Paul you never did a gibson songwriter could you please do a video on one
More like a square shouldered southern jumbo. It’s a great guitar! But I’m more familiar with Gibson acoustics (1960-1970)
They sound incredible though
I agree with Paul. That’s a nice guitar but not a Hummingbird.
So... is a deluxe hummingbird a hummingbird? Because this has IDENTICAL specs with the deluxe minus the abalone binding and an abalone logo. I mean, the deluxe costs 6 grand and the original is 4 grand. Your comment kinda comes across as a little snobby, so I'm assuming you don't consider this a "real" hummingbird because it doesn't have abalone binding. I'll GLADLY pick the rosewood back and sides of this studio over the mahagony back and sides on an original. And the studio still has binding, it's just not shiny abalone....who cares lol. The studio comes in at almost 1500 dollars less than the original, it looks darn near identical, AND it has the better tone woods found on the deluxe model. IMO, you'd be a fool to pick the original over the studio, unless you just REALLY have a hard on for mahagony, which I can't understand because rosewood is about as close to mahagony as you can get sonically with actually BETTER bass, mids, and highs. 🤷
The toan is in the binding
@@heavychonkerssteviek8691That’s hilarious
It sounds like a Martin! that is why it sounds good
I kinda like this better than the higher end hummingbird gibson.
Does it sound like a Martin or is it me
I just purchased one of these in Left handed version. It has all the documentation etc it is legit. However on the headstock it is missing the gold crown shape thing. And due to this being a misprint i can gather just this alone they had to cut the cost. So i save £500 + just for it not having this transfer etc on it. Which i if the sticker/transfer etc is worth so much im glad it saved me some bucks. It is genuine but have you heard of this before?
It is also brand New. With it being a lefty maybe this is why?
Not likely man. All of these things are made by hand in Bozeman. I highly doubt something like that would slip through the cracks of quality control. I’m sure there is another explanation but if not sounds like you got a fake.
To my ears.......this Gibson has a "Molly Tuttle " sound to it. :-)
What kind of pick does Quinton use...?
Hi Gregory - I use a Wegen 1.2mm Bluegrass flatpick (with a little skateboard grip tape over the holes), and medium or heavy Herco flat thumbpicks. Thanks for watching!
@@quintonking9960 Thanks, Quinton...I really appreciate your reply! I watch all of your guitar reviews and think you and Paul are doing a great job!
Ok big question is in made in Bozeman what is is retail?

Is that saddle on backwards?
Gibson saddles always point towards the sound hole. Kind of the opposite of Martin
I prefer the look and sound of this compared to the standard.
Buy your Gibson acoustic now. After they open the new factory, these "Old Factory" Gibson Acoustics will be sought after. Don't say I didn't tell you.
Well , maybe not the "studio" line.
lol i hear ya
Which Gibson is best to buy
@@krisersn3092 j 45 the classic
Where are they opening at
@@changetime6957 they moved their Memphis factory to Nashville, but the acoustics have been made in Montana since 1989… so this is fake news
😎
Sounds like a Martin lol but cooler looking
Gibson needs to do away with the shallow body on the studio models. There's a reason dreadnoughts are the depth they are. I mean how much money does it really save?
different animal...no hummybirdy!!
ill take the Tom Petty on the back wall!
Someone glued the bridge upside down. This is a beautiful guitar but my eyes get stuck on that bridge. Yeah. I know: splitting hairs.
Gibson used the upside down bridge placement decades ago say they couldn’t be sued by Martin.
This is the wrong guy to review this beautiful guitar. Mentioning Martin and alluding it as better than Gibson is a travesty...
Sounds nice but 100% not a Hummingbird
No, it isn’t a Hummingbird. Not even mahogany? Not even a dang hummingbird?? No. Don’t get me wrong-I want it-but it’s not a Hummingbird.
but it definitely could be better than the d-28 martin that so many compare it to, considering both are rosewood back and sides here, so I definitely need to hear a comparison here so we can see once and for all if gibsons are better
too much hummingbird version. so I don’t like hummingbird model without hummingbird pickguard
This is not hummingbird, just Gibson square shoulder guitar. I hate Gibson's naming. If The manufacture named so many various, the reason is only make money for invest debt. Why Gibson guitar is overpriced, the reason is they have a lot of debt for investing ONKYO, TEAC electronics. Onkyo was recently bankrupt.
Why no mask?
Good lord.....
Mask season is over.
Oh my gosh. You’re kidding right? RIGHT?
You only have to put on a mask when playing a Chibson . This one I guess is a Gibson .
@@fedexnman oh that’s funny!!
