    He was a disaster of a character. He only wanted Megan to get back at Michael. He still held a candle for Kimberly. And to imagine that Kimberly would have even looked at him sideways.

    Linden Ashby would have been more interesting on the show had Marcia Cross stayed around. Kimberly/Coop/Megan/Peter would have been a better story. I'm sure Michael and Megan would have been mixed up in it all at some point but Coop and Megan never quite worked.

      My argument is that if the character of Coop would have been introduced back in Season 5, while Kimberly was still alive, he would have been more interesting if the writers were smart enough to think of better storylines for him.

      They ruined Coop the moment he told Marian to be put in a Nut House. She should have NEVER gone to him like that. And had she, that's the last thing I was expecting to hear from him. He just turned into this wuss.

    • @MarkSinacori
      @MarkSinacori Před rokem +1

      @@hairlesskang He was so bad that when he showed up he was a wuss. When Marian showed up he was a wuss as well. Then he just continued being a wuss. None of the episodes ended with him in any way plotting something big. He was just a wuss. When he married Lexi he was still a wuss. That ended the 3rd summer episode of season 7, but still, He was just a wuss the whole way through. In his last episode, he pretended to want to kill Lexi? Then he said he was gonna do it to Megan and she had stopped him? Just badly written. In his last episode he and Michael should have gotten into a fight again and he died somehow, while trying to kill Michael or he accidentally falls or something out of the office building. HAHAH! But they just made him a wuss on a boat and it made zero sense.

  • @charcasc7462
    @charcasc7462 Před 4 lety +12

    Coop was such a poorly conceived character. A major factor in why Season 6 was the worst season of the show. His various schemes to get back at Michael just made me feel bad for Michael. The only scene of his I liked was when Lexi goaded him into violent sex and that's because of Jamie Luner's performance, she was awesome as Lexi, a character who came into her own once Peter dumped her (Lexi was a kind of dull and also misconceived before that as she didn't really work as a fragile type). If they wanted Linden Ashby on the show, they should have brought him back as Jo's abusive ex husband whom he played in a guest turn in Season 1.

      @@socialmedianotfunanymore Largely the way he was written. Not much Ashby could do playing a guy largely written as angry and bent on revenge, whether it was against Michael or Lexi.

      @hairlesskang Před 3 lety

      Apologies for the late reply to your comment: I'm genuinely curious to why you would think Linden Ashby should have been brought back as Jo's ex?
      That story arc was resolved in 2 episodes back in Season 1, if I remember. Is it because of Jo's habit to become romantically involved with abusive men? Did you think that the actor was more interesting as his guest role or had better potential in mixing with the original cast? I do agree he was wasted in Season 6 with little to do or lack of good character arc for him and I think Coop should have been added in Season 5, while Kimberly was still alive. What do you think?

    Let me get this straight: Coop is mad at Megan (and is breaking up with her) because she prevented him from KILLING Lexi?
    It's a travesty that Brett Cooper never got his comeuppance, Melrose-style.

    Whoever thought Lexi and Coop were a believable couple needs to go back to film school. What horrible casting. Linden Ashby was the wrong fit for MP. Lexi, however was amazing in season 7 once she let her hair down and became a villianess and went toe to toe with Amanda.

    Coop I didn’t feel was the worst character on the show. That went to Ryan in season 7. But he’s not good. All the characters brought in after season 5 sucked. It was never the same once Allison, Jake, Sydney, and Kim were gone .

      Amen to this. Ryan's character was so, so awful. But Coop wasn't great either. But, as someone pointed out, it would have been interesting if Kimberly was still around in Season six OR if they had brought Coop/Lexi on in Season 5. Having Kimberly/Coop/Michael/Lexi would've been interesting.

      I agree Coop was the worst to ever be on this show. But the whole "killing off characters" is what ruined this show during season 4. At the end of season 4 all of the characters they made were dead.. they had nothing for season 5.. they put all the weight on Taylor and Ryan after that and that couple was horrible.
