    Received these M50x BT2 a few days ago and out of the box the sound quality is excellent. They definitely exceeded my expectation for the price and I've not even bedded them in yet. What would be a considerable upgrade in sound quality for Trance music on these (I don't need Bluetooth necessarily).

But hearing the mic test, I won’t bother getting them. The microphone sounds terrible. I don’t understand why it seems so difficult for headphones manufacturers to make headphones with decent microphones. So far the only good ones are the Corsair Virtuoso, the ATH-M50xSTS, the Audeze Maxwell, the Beyerdynamic mmx 100, 150 and 300.

    • @Nitidus
      @Nitidus Před 2 lety +4

      Concerning the Sonys, I decided against them and for this one. From what I found researching, the Sony does have particularly worse audio quality. Less battery life, bad multi-pairing. Close to very good noise cancelling, though. But it does worden audio quality even further. This and the finicky touch controls are both things I don't really need and the passive noise canceling from the Audio-Technicas is said to be good, that's enough for my needs. Lastly, if I remember correctly, the Sonys don't support LDAC on every device as some phone manufacturers have to enable the feature on their side first. No idea if this also applies to the ATs, honestly

      I bought them, and they are work perfectly as both studio monitoring headphones and bluetooth headphones. Actually, the AT app, which includes parametric EQ for the headphones, allows you to make them less "flat" for listening purposes.@@ShivamSingh-nt8tw

    • @davidmjdeutsch
      @davidmjdeutsch Před 9 měsíci +1

      I admit though, it was hard to find an ideal, coiled, 3.5mm (standard aux) cable for wired use, as typical cables designed for wired studio headphones, like the wired M50s for example, are generally 2.5mm to 3.5mm, with locking function. These headphones have a rather deep input jack so not all top quality aux cables fit, and anything with a lock function will not fit.

      I put an order down on the 6th and it took about a week for Amazon to get one and ship it to me. Supposed to get it sometime in the next couple days. I would order one now instead of waiting for it to list as in stock. If Amazon is shipping what supply is trickling in, they'll likely not get more than is needed to meet demand, therefore staying listed as out of stock.

      Very different headphones :)
      Sony xm4 with ANC sound more in your head, like if you are in a bubble and hear the music. The sony xm4 have more bass, but it’s not kick bass, it’s muddy bass. When you hear to metallica songs, the double bass drum kicks a lot with the x50mbt2, and the sound is precise. With the xm4, sometimes you can’t hear the double bass drum, the « kick » is not the same like the bt2. Vocals are more dominant with the bt2, more details.

    It's sad to me, I hate everything like EVERYTHING about the m50s headband
    It's over designed garbage too big the headband itself it too wide too it makes it so much heavier, and the headband isn't a slimmed headband like the sony XM4s
    No ANC? WTF
    they look so goddam clumsy especially when I wear my first version M50xBT
    Why couldn't they just have made it have the headband of a redesign of the m30 and m40
    I loved audio technica back in the day tho.... but they need to get their sh! Back in today's program,
    they need to consumer-ify these goddam headphones
    I love my m30s for absolutely how thin they are and comfortable to sleep with, legit buy some and compare to the m50s how thin the driver cups are, and the headband is so narrow fitting and looks so better over the over head shaped m50s, the m50s make me look like a F-ing clown
    I can even modify a cheap bluetooth adapter into my m30s and the driver cups are STILL THINNER :/
    Why cant you make them more consumer friendly and add ANC
    honestly this is tbe biggest letdown by audio technica
    And btw the headphone market has legitimately changed so much since years ago, I bet theres so many much sony headphones now that are bluetooth that could wipe these feature wise, I mean I hate the xm4s for having megaman hearcups being to thick and cant sleep with them, but jeez especially on amazon theres so many more cheaper alternatives to these like feature packed bombers of great headphones, wish audio technica could step the game up. For my FAVOURITE audio Japanese audio brand, I'm even more let down by them, I thought Japanese brands always found ways go be ahead of the game! Like SONY WITH THE XM4s :/ mega not hype for these
