The key to the success of visionaries like guitar virtuoso Dave Edmunds is that he assimilated the best that rock and roll had to offer and used that inspiration to create some game changing music. The same can be said of the utterly stupendous Luv'. The impact of many of the classic vocal groups is apparent in cuts like My Man and Louis Je T'adore (not to mention Jose Hoebee's solo covers of classics by Doris Day, Steeleye Span, the Beach Boys and Peggy March). And Luv' took it a step further by emphasizing key attributes like impeccable and clever choreography, over the top genius story lines in their key singles (U O Me Waldolala, You're The Greatest Lover, Trojan Horse and this larger than life masterpiece) and perfected it with the all too essential elements of heart and relentless optimism. It is definitely not a stretch to place them in the upper echelons of the greatest vocal groups of all time. Absolute, utter perfection.
