When legend said "I'm working on a doomswarm but it's composed of REAL CRAP", I thought of Bretonnian peasants supported by grail reliquaes... well, the truth was similar in shape and smell.

Watching a battle like this, or his frame-rate issues on the SyDC Cathayan video, thinking.... Yea, I own TWW3, but how is my 2017 vintage i7-7700k & 1070Ti going to handle... I mean it's pretty solid for TWW2; but once I get to 4 full stacks it sometimes gets laggy... I generally avoid the large battle choice for that reason. XD

No, it actually worked in the crusades. In particular the first crusade at Antioch.
The Muslims regularly lost while having superior troops and equipment.
The other crusades were different (especially when it would be like hey let's sack the Byzantiums)

It's worth noting that the thunderbarges can become unbreakable in Thorgrim's army if your faction has accrued enough grudges, and if that had happened this fight might literally have been impossible to win since those things seemed to have more than enough ammo to finish the remaining flagellants off, and even if they don't they can't land anyway, so it would be an eternal stalemate.
this is why thunderbarges are stupid strong
you normally are forced to lose the battle if you don't have any ground units for a few minutes, not sure if the AI cheats with this though
@@superguy911 The way the game forces you to lose is by gradually reducing your units' leadership until they rout, which doesn't happen when they're unbreakable.
@@superguy911I think the mechanic makes them flee if they don't land but if they're unbreakable it doesn't work. Not actually sure though been a while since I've bothered trying
@@superguy911 Unbreakable units ignore all leadership penalties, including "no ground units". And no, AI does abide by the same rules in that case.

3:16 liked the visual here: the main enemy army could probably see what was happening here, were doing their damnedest to thin the herds out before the frontlines clashed...but imagine being on the Organ Gun crews in the center, KNOWING the triple pinch is barreling in, and just...not...able...to fire...fast enough
I'm loving all of these doomswarms so far, all of the last two weeks' videos period, so much fun and creativity on display: I like brainstorming how each featured stack, on both sides, would perform against that one Forest Encounter for Wood Elves in Kappelberg, the "very difficult" battle that piles Bestigors/Ghorgons/Minotaurs/Cygors on you (although really, it would be more of a endurance trial to see how long that Beastmen army would last against each of these stacks)

A doomswarm I would like to see is 4 full stacks of necromencers using only summon undead units spells to create ... well .... a MASSIVE horde of undead ( even if they're temporary you can recast them, use black periapt to generate mor Winds of magic).

those units that hardly have any green but have high numbers i believe is what happens when the vast majority of the models in that unit are like one hit away from dying, so even though theres several dozen of flagellents left in that unit their collective hitpoints is still incredibly low.
I like Legend's current *content for fun* arc, because In turn I have loads of fun with the videos he puts out

I feel like battles like this would be most fun to watch with the AI General mod, which allows you to let the AI control whatever units you want from your army. Give all the flagellants to it and just control the single entities.
Bat Swarms, Spider swarms, Fury swarms, Ravenman swarms. So much to do.
I already built an Ravenman swarm 2 campaigns ago and it was pretty powerful tbh.
I would recommend Ostankya with those spiders and their poison attack unlocked! Medium price but you can send them against anything with high speed and damage. Had fun with them.

Regarding new PC, it's like one of Viva la Dirt League video, when one dude trying to get his computer for 4 months or so
They've got stats like slayers, they're anti-infantry and they're unbreakable. Actually quite strong.
tehenhauin's skink crap stack is amazing! I've been doing a skink javelin only run and it rules in manual battle. 50+ melee defence and 60 armor makes them pretty resillient!

I find it always insane how you instantly notice when your units get low health or get focused and react in near seconds to pull them out.
Units like Slayers & Flagallents are really underrated, especially if they are accompanied by a lord/hero that can provide buffs
Slayer Pirates can become crazy if you Tech and Spec for them with Malakai

Given how Dwarves are revered in the Sigmarite faith (a group of Sigmarite fanatics even view and treat Gotrek as akin to an *angel* in "City of the Damned") it's kind of funny watching Legend send hordes of the zealots to fight Thorgrim Grudgebearer.
Alternative title: 8880 Sigmarites on their usual Pilgrims.

Feeling the corporate delivery lies so hard. I've been cooking on a camp stove for two months waiting for my new oven to show up, they keep saying "any day now..."
Here are a few swarms I would love to see, and I hope someone will submit:
1. Bloated Corpse Swarm
2. Miners with Blasting Charges (Compensate for limited ammo by having MORE units!)
3. Dwarf Rangers with Snipe from the Thane tree.
4. Clan Rats
Interesting experiment: measure the temperature of your office before and after these battles.

that said i think a dwarf ranger doomswarm would be pretty good. skirmish would be useful for once and they regenerate. as long as you have at least 1 thane in the army they all get snipe, stalk, and vanguard to make life hell for your enemies
