I met Joe Perry in an airport around 1979? and he was my favorite guitarist. I recognized him from behind when he was in line up ahead of me going threw security. I got his autograph and he was very much a gentleman, very nice. All I could say was "Thank you, Thank you, Thank you" repeatedly, along the lines of "Were not worthy." My parents were with me at the time and they were like, why is Sandy freaking out and who is that long haired guy she is talking to. They said they had never seen me so excited in all of my life. I still have his autograph on my ticket envelope.

He really has finesse I think. He plays with a lot of ease and comfort. Oh and everyone criticizing him, It's just his friggin playing style I think. He's probably not the type who's all into just shredding and "playing really fast" I actually like it a bit more because it's a little understated and not over the type and garish. He's a bit younger so he's not the prototypical "blues/hard rock" guitarist from the 70's. He is a bit more punk-rock and it shows. Oh and of course one thing everyone didn't notice is that his phrasing is really good, too. (takes more then just shredding)
