Bad Way To Start Spring Break! Ford Explorer Rollover!!

- Hey everyone, this video is from a police rotation I worked, at the start of our Spring Break weekend.
The Ford Explorer blew a tire, and lost control and went off the roadway, hitting a ditch, and rolling multiple times.
Unfortunately both occupants were taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers for a full recovery!
One of the first things I noticed about your truck is how immaculately clean it is. That says a lot about the man operating it. This was a scary bad tow. That truck was just junk. I happened on to your channel yesterday and I was immediately sure I wanted to return. Good job.

That's exactly my thought.
suvs are way worse in rollover accidents bigger is not better in a rollover and this is a older model doesnt have side airbags so doubt it has to much pillar strengthing
It’s hard doing these types of incidents. It’s always unfortunate, makes you think a lot. Doing this job has made me much more conscious of driving my own vehicle
Same here. I own a 94 Ford Ranger 2wd XLT & a Ford Bronco 2 and I get worried every time I am on the road
I like watching this ,the man explains everything at what he's doing and my prayersgo out to everyone,and to the wrecjer company that show this bad wreck
They had to be going fast, those model explorers usually hold up decently well. I’ve seen a handful of them take beatings in accidents . Prayers to the occupants
Had to have been speeding ive never lost control that bad from popping a tire even while on the interstate

I can't say I've ever seen a vehicle come apart like that. Dash, switches, shocks, etc. Wow, they are lucky in so many ways.

That is what happens when they build a vehicle with minimum steel and maximum glass and plastic to save build cost and maximize profits !!!! Tossing the battery in the back to roll around and possibly short out and arc right over the top of a fuel leak was probably not the best idea !!! Great Recovery !!!
I was thinking the very same thing, and the tires were not the best either. I sure hope they survive it.

Wow, that's one of the worst single vehicle accidents that I've ever seen. Lucky, the ground was hard, or you would've had quite a time dragging it back to the road. Great video.

I've seen and responded to a lot of Bad ones but this one is Horrible, saying lots of prayers for those involved, and I pray that they are able to recover.

I used to know a guy who was a Houston cop. Some of the car wreck stories he could tell would curdle your blood.

I don't see any salvageable parts left on that thing, Nice job cleaning up, that thing almost needs a roll of that plastic wrap.
That sucks. I hope they're going to pull through. That is exactly why it is very important to have good tires. From the camera's view, the tires look bad. And yes, I know a lot of people can't really afford new tires, but if you can't then don't drive at interstate speeds, it could cost you or others their life.
That was a wild wreck.. that run off drain must have contributed to the impact.. great video
Yeah I don’t know if it was seen in the video, but half of the wheel was imbedded in the ground in the ditch.
Glad I went with my min van an not one of those hope all for a full recovery
They jacked that Explorer up!!
Very interesting and educational watching the clean up after that accident.
Most of us don’t realize how much work is involved in cleaning up after a wreck.

At the beginning of the cleanup, I was like hey dude you got to get out the trash bag
Yeah I should have. Generally if it’s a lot of large chunks I’ll just grab them by hand real quick but this debris field was way too large for that.

You certainly wouldn't be able to drive on the grass like that this time of year up here in Oregon. Glad it was dry enough down there for you though. That definitely makes it easier. Great job on the recovery and cleanup!

The destruction perfectly explains the injuries the occupants sustained! That explorer looks like it's almost flattened like an empty cardboard box!

Here in St.Louis MO. They don't clean up crap! Jus push it to the side, One bumper cover has been in the center median for over a week.(an not grass, just concrete wall seperates 4 lane's each way) But crash debris on all the highway's around here!

Now you have the keys a big hammer some gaffer tape and a tin of filler and it will be back on the road in a week .Ha ha ,Now to be serious I hope the occupants make a speedy recovery ,that looked amazing that they even got out alive .

I think, a good body shop would be able to buff it out. Little paint. Good too resale.
Entire tread separated form the LR tire carcass, good view @ 15:10, and it looks like all three other tires are not in very good shape. Still, a tire blowout at highway speed should not lead to a loos of control and roll over, provided the driver does not panic and slam on the brakes.

Dustin, nice job flopping it over and dragging it on. Never saw a vehicle crunch up like that, must have been flying. Not sure I would toss the battery in the back with all the loose parts and a possible fuel leak, but I'm anal about stuff like that, so I'm told 😵💫.
Wow 😯 I can see why someone was life flighted out of there. I saw a head rest and the battery among the other debris . That was scattered. Out in the grass.

Back in the day when I worked in the field I would hear the accident on the scanner and every time the phone would ring after that I would hope it wasn’t county or state dispatch

It will be 12 years in early March for me. I was in a car accident. My car did rolled over once. It was the other driver’s fault. He was delivering mail to this one mailbox. I passed him and I thought he was still doing his job. He made a left turn as I was passing. His car hit the front tire and he wasn’t paying attention. The impact from his car towards my car that I gotten my left ankle broken in the accident. I had a couple bruises on my thigh just above my left knee. I was sore on my right side around the ribs and it might be a big bruise in that area. I even had a tiny bump on my right breast or chest area. I had a X-ray of my right shoulder and about 3 sets of 3 X-rays of my ankle for my stay at the hospital. I was lucky that I didn’t have any serious injuries or life threatening. That one was a doozy for me. I was lucky to have my parents for my recovery and take me to the hospital for my left ankle. Now that I have no one close by to take care of me. I have to be extremely careful in driving. I have been in a couple accidents with a deer in 2016. No injuries from them. The 1st one with a deer that I was still shaken the following afternoon. I didn’t have a car for a couple of weeks because of a guy from the insurance company got lost. I even had a loaner car for a couple of weeks. I even liked the color of the loaner car,too. It was 5 years older than my car was. The 2nd time with a deer it was much more damaged than the 1st one. I had a loaner car a little bit over a week because of the weather. It was a 2009 Ford Escape in red. It was my 2nd Ford Escape to drive in. My sister’s Escape was the first. After that I was driving my father’s 2008 Ford Expedition for 3 months. With my mother we traded the Expedition for a 2015 Ford Escape SE. I had that car in late March 2017-mid March 2022. It died on me with an oil leak. Now I drive a 2020 Ford Escape SE. The car that I was driving when I hit those 2 deer was a 2011 Mercury Milan. My 1st bad accident was a 2005 Ford Focus ZX5 SES trim level.

That driver side rear wheel looks like the one that blew and then it caused t to spin they hit the grass and hit the ditch then rolled cause that axle had to hit that ditch the way it folded
One wreck and it folds over like a tin can. Only thing left is the motor.
high speed with bald old tires lead to a blow out by the looks of it. that thing was demolished.

So, The Firefighter states there is a fuel leak. As a FF myself I have to ask why the engine is parked almost a mile away and why a precautionary hoseline isn't stretched?

And this is why they call them exploders. They were not built very well and they literally come apart and explode during a rollover. I've seen them do this from a rollover at 45mph does not take but a couple of flips for centrifugal force to take over
