How to avoid patches while shading

There might be 2 reasons for patches in shading , 1st is that paper got damaged , and 2nd is you are not controlling the pressure on your pencil while shading . . So to avoid patches you should try to keep your paper clean and safe , and try to control the pressure on pencil while shading. Don't put too much pressure on it.
