Probably had to edit the footage heavily as getting them all to not blow engine guts was probably hard to do...smoking heaps on the side of the road, after they ran over their own pistons...

Saw a 1400bhp Supra in LA a few years back 0to60 mph in 2.5 seconds and top speed of God only knows lol 😂 it was so fast guys on Motorcycles couldn’t keep up

This was its second appearance on TG, though. The first one was in the late 90s when it was reviewed by Tiff Needell.
My uncle has a 1997 Toyota supra and they are such fun cars to race and cruise in.

@@hostileaks4495 the old Top Gear (Clarkson era) was famous for using amazin background music and they have used The Prodigy many times, especially in the earlier series. But of course, only in the original BBC2 version.

Stepdad had one of these when I was little, honestly believe it’s where my love for cars started! I will never forget getting into it the first time it felt so low 😂. The interior is an absolute classic as well!

@@mrjjthor so you'd rather pay 120k for a in-house developed Supra which would then wholeheartedly ruin the point of the supra's existence of being a affordable sports car, and the B58 is a great engine and people are already pushing out 700bhp with minor upgrades, just cause it's co developed doesn't mean it's not a Supra like jfc the 2jz was co-developed by Yamaha and no one complains

The A80 was a supercar killer back in the day for sure.
0-60 in 4.6 seconds and handled great. Even held the worlds shortest stopped distance ❗️
A80 Supra was a boat compared to the other Japanese sports cars LOL. Evo 6 Tommi Makinen, Impreza 22B, Skyline R34 and Honda NSX were much better drivers cars. But, I have to admit, Supra is the most bulletproof.

Skyline may be heavier, but it has a very advanced 4WD system and it was engineered by guys who know a thing or two about racing cars. And if I bring a Skyline R34 Z-Tune NISMO, we can safely say that Supra is a Titanic.

The Toyota A80 Supra MK4 is a dream come true and yes a super car killer. Similar to any of the R32/R33/R34 Nissan Skyline GTR's.

The mitsubishi gto was nothing compared to the Supra
LethalCookieMonster The GTO is hugely underrated, check out some of the Japanese track attack races. Despite being slightly heavier it would often get fastest lap.
All the Japanese cars from that era were awesome though, each in their own way. Supra, Skyline, GTO, RX7, Evo, NSX, 300ZX.
3000GT VR4 had AWD, four-wheel steering, and active aerodynamics. The Supra is more popular but the 3000GT had more to offer.
Testarossa will always be my love... Always, well Berlinetta comes a close 2nd but that's it

That’s the cleanest stock MK4 Supra I’ve seen.
The owner is in our Supra owners club. Car has had every single service and all work carried out at the same Toyota dealer since he bought it brand new.

Now the "cheap" TESLA Model 3 Performance is doing everything to supercars that this Supra did back in the 90's. The competition never saw it coming.
Aussie2u Model 3 is a one trick pony, it’s good off the line and that’s about it.
Aside the fact it's a Tesla. It will never be cool. It'll never turn heads. It'll never be anything more than a battery on wheels.

Yes but less no one forget that you still need to put a lot of money into one to get it there just like any other car. Rebuilding the engine to safley make that power isn't necessary is all. They are still good at making easy power though. 800hp is overrated. 400hp is way plently. Make much more than 400 and you won't be able to have fun on the street.
The puffs of smoke were just excess fuel being burned off on the first boost because they had been sat with the engines idling for 5 minutes waiting to be called on set.
