Perfect video.. Please I need to know.. What the correct number. To set the valves. My car is honda civic 1990 . Manual transmission.with carburettor. Thanks 🙂🙂
Same way you took it off, use a floor jack to lift it into place that usually helps. It will pop into place then slowly tighten the bolts down in a criss cross pattern
You’re taking a chance I’ve blown a manual Honda transmission when I used regular conventional motor oil. Trust me from experience. Those trannys are very picky when it comes to fluid, just passing info on from my experience.
Possibly I’ve never had an issue when I’ve used manual Honda transmission fluid the one time I did use gear oil the transmission was affected so I wasn’t sure exactly what happened it didn’t blow from abuse. Just passing on my experience I’m sure 5-30 gear oil is fine, I just won’t be using it.
Thank you for making this video. Your instructions are very clear and thorough and I really appreciate it!
Happy to help!
So you can change the clutch without taking out the engine, nice. :)
Most people consider taking the engine out with the trans attached much easier. I prefer leaving the engine installed but that’s just my preference 🚙
Dude this video is fantastic... Thank you so much! It will help make my transmission replacement a breeze next week
Thank you so much for the kind words, I’m so glad I was able to help 👍🤙
Great video. Love how detailed it is
Thank you!
Thanks for the video!! It was my first time removing a clutch and this video gave me the confidence to do it 💯
A comment like this is why I do it, thank you for the kind words 👍
very well done. Very smart to share your thought process. I will be doing this in the near future. Thanks again
Good luck to you! I appreciate your kind words thank you👍
real men undo that 10mm and pull out the whole speedometer gear 😈
Interesting, to each his own. I prefer to work smarter than😊 harder, but hey man go for it.
Holy crap! Replacing a clutch on a rear wheel drive car is a walk in the park compared with this.
I agree!
you aren't lying on that starter bolt, jesus I had a time with that lmao
💪⚙️
Hey great video I had a question so when we were removing the flywheel it spun and we wanted to know if the engine would be off timing.
If the belt was still tight and not messed with you should be fine!
Thank for awesome video….!
You’re very welcome!
Damn i miss my 88 CRX-Si was red missing it right now 😢
88 in my opinion was the best year!
That's a very good video 👍
Thank you! 👍
Do you recommend changing the engine mounts to new one while replacing the clutch since theyre apart already?
Wouldn’t hurt to do that 👍
Change any possible thing that could be worn... parts for this car are very cheap on rockauto
Perfect video..
Please

Thanks 🙂🙂
Sorry to get back to you so late but .007 for the intake and .009 for the exhaust side 🤔
I just did this two weeks ago on my y49 dam near 400k on it the trans was a bitch to.line back up lol
Yes it can deff be a pain but worth the satisfaction when its complete!
How do I put the transmission back on
Same way you took it off, use a floor jack to lift it into place that usually helps. It will pop into place then slowly tighten the bolts down in a criss cross pattern
You did such a great job on this install. I’m sending you a seal puller, btw.
Thank you😁
Do you not need to shim?
O.o
Is there any different from a 86? Looks about the same
It’s not going to be 100% identical but im sure you can apply a lot of the same procedures on those years as well.
Is the game plan to just have enough room to remove the bell housing to take the clutch off? If I can do it without removing as much peripherals?
What is the diameter of the clutch you used ? 200mm, 212mm ?
212! I hope that helps!
@Tycrx89 Thank you! Your video really helped me! I must have missed something because the rest of the motor is leaning so much
is the car cursed its painted yellow
I sure hope not
Use conventioanl 5w30 motor oil in the tranny....thats what I use

@@Tycrx89 Read the owners manual !
Owners manual didn’t save me from blowing a trans Unfort
@@Tycrx89 Th etrans didnt blow because of the oil... many other reasons !
