WWF No Mercy is a professional wrestling video game released in 2000 on the Nintendo 64 console and published by THQ. It is named after the World Wrestling Federation annual pay-per-view event of the same name. No Mercy is the follow-up to 1999's WWF WrestleMania 2000, and the last WWF game released for the Nintendo 64. No Mercy was well received by players and critics alike.
These would've been cool, as a kid I always wondered why the entrances cut off on the ramp

Regional Differences
The European version fixed the save glitch present in other versions and awkwardly removed visible blood as well, even though first blood matches and animations for reacting to bloodshed remained.

This game had a lot of content so my guess is they cut them short because of space which in the end I don't really mind honestly I tended to skip in WM 2000 and Revenge. Wish they woulda had entrances like no mercy in revenge so they could at least put in some of the entrance music.

It looks like AKI used some of them as winning animations (The Rock, Austin, etc). They weren't taken out completely. Just the ramp>ring part was taken out, however the Miss Bikini entrances has some of the data left in...
Shame they didn't have the WrestleMania 2000 style entrances for No Mercy.

Kenny Omega of AEW was tasked by Cody Rhodes with finding former AKI designers. AKI doesn't exist anymore, but the fact that all the EVPs love No Mercy, Kenny knows conversational japanese and the fact that the Young Bucks managed to resurrect LJN to put out some action figures for them a 2 or 3 years ago so they have a history of success with this. I'm confident they will find some of the people, and give us some game with a semblance to No Mercy or the DOR series on the GameCube. If that doesn't work Kenny Omega has a relationship with Capcom and referee Aubrey Edwards used to work in the video game field as well.

It’s a shame WWF Backlash (the intended sequel to No Mercy) didn’t get to come out. It would’ve been an even more polished version of No Mercy.
Backlash has been revealed to never exist at all at any point. No Mercy was always the last game intended for the N64.
This would have been awesome if it was in the final game

They should have kept these. wrestlemania had better entrances than no mercy. Tho no mercy understood wrestling with the fact that the story can't be finished unless you lose in certain matches. The new 2k games can learn from No Mercy

WrestleMania doesn't have backstage access tho also since the N64 cartridges storage is limited they didn't addednthese kind of features

No Mercy was my favorite wrestling game for a long time, but I always wondered why No Mercy’s entrances were only on the ramp.
This might also explain why certain wrestlers were just given generic entrance music like the women wrestlers. Because they added in last minutes new features and ran out of room. It would’ve been cool to have seen these in the actual game.

It always blew my mind how better the AKI games were better than the Yukes/Acclaim games, especially since AKI had a far more limited amount of space (and by extension, a smaller budget) and used the same engine for four different games.
+Silent Scope Haha, my friend and I used that one because his character normally had the Undertaker's motorcycle entrance, so when we tagged, we'd use the joke one and crash like idiots.
Ikr whats the point in having an entrance ramp when there is no actual entrance? The only time you can see a full entrance down the ramp is for that diva search thing cut scene
How did you come across these? Its a shame they couldn't get these to make the cut. Still one of my top 3 favorites.

This game needed entrancs and I don't understand why they didn't have them. They had them in wrestlemania 2000 and on this one it seemed like they could'n get it down right or something because some of them it looks like they are walking on the barricade and stuff

At 2:45 They Put The Rock Raised arm taunt on every Wrestling Game! That Taunt was supposed be on here when they Show Full Entrances but Got Scrapped from the game* we only see His Taunt at the End of The Match. Sad

If No Mercy had a little more time in the oven, we could’ve got these full entrances AND not have the save data glitch.
Probably didn't have enough time to finish. Also reminds this was back before they fixed the games to point from the hard camera.
They never made a game with intros again as far as I know. Def Jam Vendetta has some intros in the storymode as cut scenes, but they're very basic. Ultimate Muscle goes back to the World Tour just in the corner intros.

what a load of shit. i remember playing the game for the 1st time on its release day and feeling very ripped off because the full entrances had been left out. 1 of the best things about wrestlemania 2000 was the ring entrances
Wres Tling Games I think it is quite acceptable to not retain the ring entrances in this game for two big reasons:
1 - There is no ring canvas whatsoever (dafuq?)
2- Wrestlers like Rock, Edge and Austin climb in invisible turnbuckles for their turnbuckle taunts

@@rugby171 probably needed more time. They had just done Wrestlemania 2000 the year before in late 1999 and VPW2 in January of 2000. When they did No Mercy they took that base, upgraded the graphics like crazy, added a ton of new people all with trons and better and longer song samples for themes, revamped the CAW, added the smackdown mall, added the code to connect to the later cancelled GBC game, added a branching story mode that was unlike the road to Wrestlemania and the similar mode in VPW, adddd ladder match like from the title ppv, updated the cage match, added survivor mode dealt with bugs... etc
...why did Mae Young do the Team No Respect dance??
