Why I Respect the European Union, as an American

I love living in Spain, which means I also live in the EU. As part of the EU, Spain receives many benefits, and at the same time there are many drawbacks. But I think for now the benefits outweigh the costs, and I know I don't get all the credit because I'm saying this from the outside, as an American, and as someone who has never worked in rural agricultural sectors. But it's fascinating to see how so many cultures come together and make collective decisions in a very complex form of governance.
