  • SMART trailer is so easy to keep organized when putting tools away. Here I have a whole wheel barrel filled with tools and it takes little effort to put them all away while cleaning and organizing along the way. At the end, I take time to give you a fly around of the inside of the trailer to see the organization once I have it all put back!
Thanks Ron Paulk (Smartwoodshop.com) for the plans to build this!

Great trailer! Usually when I am using spray foam I am using several cans at once. I keep using the same nozzle from the first can and save the others for later. I also save those WD-40 stems, sprayer nozzles and even a few caps for spray cans in case I break one.

Very cool setup! I can't help but worry what that place would look like if you got in a car crash, though. Haha

Thanks for commenting! As far as an accident.....if no one is hurt, its only stuff and stuff can be replaced. Even the trailer. (but it would indeed make me sad to see the organization become an explosion of chaos!)

That was a great video showing the general organization of the trailer. It amazes me how many tools you have amassed over the years. I thought I had a ton lol! Thanks for sharing and have a great day!

Thanks Russ! I am always impressed on a job site or at home, working on projects that I make a few trips out to the trailer during the day to get this tool or that…..then at the end of the day, I go to,pack up and realize I have a huge pile of tools to go back. That is what reminds me of just how much I have collected/invested in over the years.
I frequently tell my wife how great it is when I am doing something and have the right tools to do the job.

Great video Spence!! Enjoy your trip, wherever that may be, I'm sure it's much deserved.

Hey there Billy! Thanks for commenting! I had the opportunity to drive from NY to CA then to WA and back with my daughter. I love driving so it was a great time to hang with her and see the country at 70mph out of the window. The US is huge. I have driven across country several times now over the years and it never gets old how different the landscapes can be. Again, thanks!

Another great video Spence. I'd love to see the contents of your cabinetry kit. Im currently redoing our kitchen, anything that may make it easier is worth it.

thanks for the comments! Great idea for a short video. I am currently out west but will try to remember to get that one on video and posted. Thanks! In a nutshell, I have a selection of cabinet screws of different colors and lengths, a profile jig, pony clamps, handle/knob templates, crown molding holders. I think that is it.

Any ideas how much weight all the shelving adds?

    • @sdsconstruction

Thanks for commenting. At one time i had a decent count of sheets of ply used but have long since misplaced it so i have no idea about the weight of the build. The trailer goes around 4500 now with all the tools included. Next trailer i build out i will keep accurate records of materials used and weight along the way.

The plans with a material list cost $25 for the SMART tool trailer and are designed around an 8 x 12 V nose enclosed trailer. I modified them for my 6x10. Find them here:

All credit to Ron Paulk for the design and his countless hours of effort to get them to this level of functionality!
Thanks for commenting!! Best of luck if you do a build out with any type of plans that help with organization and efficiency!
