Maxence Larrieu gives us a not 'sturm und drang' style interpretation but surely a more classical one.

Yes. Definately the best performance of this. The last mvnt is as marked 'Allegro Molto' not so bloody fast it ends up a complete mess, a train crash!
His sound is very beautiful on his gold flute.

Que dire....!!! Si ce n' est que cette flute ...élégante....brillante....cristalline.......nous émerveille.....un après midi..à l' académie de nice ..l.éte....années 70...monsieur maxence Larrieu avait fait une apparition..pendant la classe de j.p Rampal...il avait préludé quelques notes..et j.p.Rampal avait fait un bon en arrière...'epoustoufflé'...!!! par SA SONORITÉ....on aurait dit qu'il avait un MICRO dans sa flûte......que de souvenirs..!!....un immense.Bravo...maitre Maxence larrieu Larrieu.....

I know that Maxence Larrieu has played for many years a Jonhatan Landell all 14 ct. Gold ...but I don't know exactly if he used it for this recording.
