These guys are masters! Syncopation is what you're hearing. These dudes' roots are in punk, old metal and even blues (Adrian is a brilliant blues guitarist). All in all, one of the best bands ever AND THEY'RE STILL ROCKING!
'Charlotte the Harlot' was 1 of Iron Maiden's early songs on the 1st record in 1980... Dave Murray (guitar) was credited w/ the music, but the lyrics were allegedly written by an early Maiden singer Dennis Wilcock about an English hooker.
When guitarist Adrian Smith joined Maiden, Steve Harris (bass) said he had seen Smith's prior band Urchin play a song called 'Catch 22' (which had never been recorded) and asked for the song... Smith gave the music and Harris wrote new lyrics (Part II of 'Charlotte the Harlot') and it became '22 Acacia Avenue' for the 1982 Maiden album 'The number of the beast'.
Harris would write a Part III of 'Charlotte the Harlot' in 1992... the song 'From here to eternity' 🤘🤘🔥🔥

Number of the Beast is a great early album for Maiden ( with Bruce on vocals ).

Absolutely phenomenal song , Adrian Smith wrote this when he was 18, of course they refined it but what a beautiful song.

You ought to look up Bruce Dickinson (singer). He is a real renaissance man. The guy is a singer and songwriter, commercial pilot, owns a brewery as well as a pilot training company, written several books, competed in international fencing competitions, hosted tv shows. The guy has done it all.
For a better version of this song, please listen to Live After Death live album. It was recorded also at Hammersmith. The all album is a masterpiece and deserves a reaction to it. You will not be wasting your time at all and you will be amazed at the showmanship of this amazing band. Iron Maiden is an excellent studio band, but all of their quality comes alive with the Live shows. Very good reaction to the best heavy metal band in the world. Keep up the good work. that was the Old iron maiden i hear the new and it don' like it almost all the old from this band et was after i hear for the first time hardrock ac/dc i didn't not real know everything about hardrock only i know was popmusic and some radio that's was all than some day i seen the first iron maiden record lie for the windows from the shop record and because i love the covers the pictures but i didn't know what music this was next morning i ask the to listen this but it was an mini record and waw i like it so than i buy other work from this band. an the realy first time that i was go to an metal concert and that was iron maiden in belgium an than i be come an metal freak but thanks to this metal band later i learn other bands an more concert wearing metal shirts an than was my favourite metal band with great logo and never sange it motorhead. now i get older just like all the older metalbands
Iron Maiden one of the best bands that you'll ever react to I would like to suggest that you go and watch Flight 666 it's all live performance you will not be disappointed and you'll really get her an appreciation of this band and the career that they have till present
