I use hepa filter with a carbon pre filter on top and another on the back side of my hepa. I vacuum my hepa after 6 mos and clean the pre filter every month in water. Then replace the hepa after another 6 mos. so its in for 12. If you wash the hepa in water, you can get another 6 mos for a total of 18 mos. we have a hepa aircleaner that costs $28 for new filter on amazon. At suppentown its around $50. So we save major dough by stretching it out. Doing constant cleanings

Rule number one of HEPA filters is you never wash a HEPA filter Unless it’s a very rare washable version. Even though it just looks like a piece of paper it’s actually like a small sponge and when you wash it it clogs it and rips micro holes in it rendering it ineffective. Of course it’ll still work but not down to the micron level

The title of the video is literally “how to clan *washable* HEPA filter” (emphasis mine) lol

Not a good idea washing and vacuuming will tear the hepa fabric and it wont work as good after. i do vacuum my carbon filter when theres too much pollen in it tho

Thanks for the comment. If I'm understanding correctly the wire mesh and charcoal filter are 1 complete filter? If that's correct. I would put the wire mesh side in first. If you need extra assistance please email us at service@greatvacs.com

@@GreatVacsCOM hay, thank you, yes it is all in one filter with two different sides, it is in one piece though, and I don t know how to side it correctly, which side is on the side of air inlet/the front in my case where the air comes in/ and which side is in the side of air outlet/ the back side where dehumidifier pushes air out/ ? thank you again

Dude, why is the video a tiny square in the corner? Did no one look at this when it was posted??

Never wash the paper filter with water!!!

Thanks for the comment. The HEPA filter shown in the video is washable so it's okay to use water.

@@GreatVacsCOM You failed to make that disclosure. You make it as though any HEPA filter can be cleaned with soap and water.

@@bobcatt2294 I don't need to make a disclosure. The owner or user should probably know if the filters are washable or not. If they're unsure they should either do their own research or just buy replacement filters. This video is primarily for those that know they have washable filters.

@@GreatVacsCOM You response is confusing. You say the video is primarily for those that know they have washable filters - Firstly, the title suggest you can wash paper filters - this implies you would not damage them or reduce their filtration ability.

@@bobcatt2294 Bob , if he had to give a disclaimer for everything the owner should already know because they’ve read their owners manual, there would be no time for the video. This video is not intended to save everyone from themselves (there’s a disclaimer)
